Hello all, it's gone very grey here after a very clear and sunny start. We're forecast Wintery showers for this afternoon and evening.

Me and John are off to see Frank Turner in Birmingham tonight. It was supposed to be me and Tom but there's now a presentation at Derby University about their teaching courses so he's going to that instead. I'm bracing myself for it actually. I'd booked standing tickets seeing as I was going with Tom and didn't consider that it might be this cold as it was last April when they went on sale! If I'd known at the time that it was John who was coming with me I'd have booked seats and we would've had somewhere to stash our coats etc then but with standing we'll have nowhere to put them and there's not a cloakroom at the Arena. Also, chances are that we won't be able to get there until 8.30ish and by then the car parking nearby will already be full so we'll have to park a distance away and walk so not taking a coat isn't an option.

Have a good day all!

It has just started with a few flecks here, but it is due to get heavier by teatime.

Have a great show Jo, you'll just have to do that sleeve tying round your waist thing with the coats.

It’s white over here. I went out to the bin and there was nothing, looked out 10 minutes later and the road and everything are covered.

LOL Frank, I already did a practice of that earlier but the sleeves won’t tie with it being bulky

Oh no!! We had that last Thursday morning, just before I was due to leave for my aquafit class! Soon went though.

Well!!!! It's been another gob smacking day at the Village Opticians!!! Learned that a particular member of staff (who is based at head office so I've not worked with her but spoken to her lots on the phone) has put her notice in - 'with immediate effect'! She has apparently, a very grumpy, argumentative and negative persona, highlighted last week when she spoke quite harshly to another staff member to the point of making her cry, so boss had a quiet word, and this is the result. Quite shocked tbh, she always seemed so nice on the phone....I did know she had another side to her, but this is a bad time for us, we're already losing one lady in April and now this one.

That aside, it's been a nice, if very cold day. Not much going on sales wise, I don't think people are in the frame of mind to spend just now. Still worried about Jen although she just text to say she's not feeling 100% but a bit better so that's not too bad, I guess...

Have a lovely evening all x

It's all go Gal!
The weather has turned a bit nasty here. We've had snow and then it has rained and the rain has frozen on the pavements, road and the car. MrsC had to struggle to get the driver's door open, it was frozen shut.
