Good Morning Sunday

Postby JanB » 11 Aug 2019, 07:34

Morning everyone

A lovely, sunny morning and would feel a lot warmer without that very strong north wind  Took ages to do the watering, as most had to be done with the watering cans - using the hosepipes watered next door

The wind will make tv watching this afternoon impossible, as it moved the thingy on the dish, so won't be able to watch the athletics this afternoon :(

We want to put some plants just by the gate, so will take some cuttings later and just put them in water for a couple of months. When we've had some proper rain, we can put them in the ground.

Cooking on the hot plates later, steak, mushrooms and will do something potatoey in the oven.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Jan, and everyone :)

It's been extremely windy here too Jan - the Balloon Festival in Bristol has been grounded, and a huge music festival in Cornwall was cancelled. It's still windy this morning, and looks like rain :cute: Out in a while for the papers and a cuppa 8-)

Have a good Sunday everyone :) xx

A stiff breeze here this morning but not gusty at all. Fresher than of late, too. Enjoy your cuppa Kaz and Jan, your dinner sounds delicious.
shortly daughter, Eliza and happy dog will be descending on us and staying for their dinner. Roast chicken. Dobby the dog likes coming here because he gets a piece of chicken instead of dry dog food. :Hi:
Football on the tv this afternoon, maybe a glass of wine tonight.
Have a good day all.

Morning all, I am on the train heading to Cork for a couple of nights with my brother. The weather has really changed, it’s cloudy and cool  Edward is home alone for two nights, and I will be home early Tuesday evening.

Have a good time together Osc x

Change of plan re dinner. The wind is going to be worse later, so I've taken some stuff out of the freezer and put the steak in the freezer, for another less windy evening.

Watching the athletics on Eurosport :D

Morning all :D

Dry but a little bit windy, not quite as bad as yesterday thank goodness.

Shame about the Bristol balloon festival Kaz, we only went once, but really enjoyed it.

Enjoy time with your brother Osc.

Not much happening here, if the wind drops and it stays dry we want to get out in the garden for a tidy up. Gammon, salad and new pots for dinner, raspberry blancmange and jelly for pud.

Have a good day :D

The wind blew the rain clouds away! Sunshine now, so I have bedding on the line :)

Mick has just about finished the bathroom, except the tall cupboard we wanted was out of stock, and has had to be ordered!

Chucking down again here. Glad we're not at the caravan this weekend, Northumberland have had it bad, lots of flooding and constant rain. It was dry here this morning but not now, and more forecast - where's Noah when you need him??

We've done not very much thanks to the weather. I had hoped to sit out on my new(ish) rattan garden furniture with my kindle, but that's out. We did go down to the park in the car (about 5 miles away) to walk round the lake and have a coffee this morning but it's not much fun when you get soaked so we came home. I've done a few bits of h/w and stuff, still need to iron, but I have towels in now and will need to put them in the tumblie after they're done.

Also, does anyone know how I can get rid of slugs/snails coming in the kitchen?? I've not seen one in the flesh so to speak, but they're leaving silver trails all over my doormat and Charlie's food bowls so I have had to put his bowls in another room, but he won't eat there   Oh and he's STILL got his cone on as the scab things haven't completely disappeared so he's still scratching :( Not sure what to do next tbh……

Have a good afternoon those of you with dry weather :)
