Nice again.

Today is Eve of Kings and the parades begin at 5pm. Local children lucky enough to be chosen throw sweets from the floats to everyone watching them. It's a sight to behold.

We'll have a few beers in Jose's and pick up a takeaway chicken for dinner.

By heck, that's chilly out there 5C The sun is just peeping over a huge cloud, so will warm up soon, hopefully We know it's cold when Molly goes inside the chimney breast

Off to Ourique for the weekly shop and to get breakfast. We enjoyed the chicken so much last week, we're getting another one this morning

Back to do not a lot, I might do some spreading of the dust around and we had intended to have a bbq this afternoon, but realised it would clash with the footie, so chicken again, but cooked with bacon and white beans it is.

It is cloudy but the sun is trying to come out. It has rained oin the night.
Another day just pottering after being awake most of the night. Couldn't get to sleep for ages and then was awake for a long time.

Morning all

Just a quick hello! Having a great time with J and P, we're expecting them again shortly - they always stay at the Ibis round the corner. We had a lovely afternoon and evening, I made soup, rolls and cheese for lunch, Julie bought Mick a homemade Christmas cake, we watched the Gloucester rugby game on telly - we won - but didn't spot Mick's brother and wife in the crowd We had takeaway last night, and they eventually made their Merry way round the corner

We're taking them to the station a about 12.30 then going to D's for Sunday lunch afterwards. J and P were invited, but have three trains home (G to Paddington, across London to Kings X, then up to Luton), so wanted to get off, as they're both back to work tomorrow. They came by train as they had a party in London on Friday night - P's nephew, and stayed in town, coming straight to us yesterday

Morning all.

Dull, grey, no wind but bitterly cold. A day for stopping in.

Called in to Asda late last night on my way home from a mate and found two trays of chicken goujons at about half price. Just making up some satay sauce to marinade them in then I will make satay skewers for the freezer - should get about eight.

Also a day for taking the decorations down, then back to normal.

We ended up with thick fog but that's going now, but cloudy and still cold, so the heater is on.

Next door has a plot of land below our nice neighbours house and has recently had it cleaned, properly and is now having it fenced. He might find a coupe of posts being knocked down, as he's put them rather close to the track we use to get to the house Not by us, but we do have delivery lorries and they're a little longer and wider than us

Will let that chicken go down a bit, then get the feather duster out

It is indeed chilly WM, enjoy the chicken satay, it sounds great. Jan - that cat is no fool!
In a while taking sister in law to her dad's, lucky her. Both her and MrsC still coughing all the time. If they were racehorses they'd been in quarantine.
Chicken for Sunday lunch, get a paper and get settled because it's too chilly to be doing much outside.
So far I've not been smitten by any bugs, touch wood. This I put down to drinking gin. The benefits of gin-based medicine are shamefully underexplored in this country, imo. It should be available on the NHS.!

Morning all - we were out last night and it was 2am when I turned out the light. To my utter amazement I slept until 10.15 with one bathroom visit at some stage. Normally when we are late like that I still wake at our usual time. Poor Edward was lying there waiting for me to wake up Nothing planned today, just lounging around, reading and/or knitting and maybe a walk around the block.

All the decs are down, the house feels very bare. Just the wreath on the door to put away later. We didn't have a special dinner on new years day so we'll have a bottle of bubbly and the last of the crackers with our roast dinner later. Raspberry blancmange and jelly for pud.
