A couple of people we know - met them once at a bbq locally - came over here last week for a holiday. Dozy pair.

Their flight has been cancelled but they've managed to get another one for tomorrow, back to England. But there are reports of the planes being over-booked and people being chucked off. All hotels are being shut down.

He's just sent me a message, asking if they can come and stay here

Have told him no.

Anyway, they've got in touch with another friend and she is letting them use another friends cottage, which is empty. But they still have to be picked up or met in Ourique

I mean, nothing has been said about any emergency in the papers or on the TV, radio, Internet, Twitface, Whatbook....

It must have come as such a shock!

Personally I would leave these sorts to fend for themselves.

Jan my Uncle and Aunt rent an apartment near Faro in Jan-April time every year. They were not seeing any problem so didn't bother making any plans, they had visitors, including another Aunt who was supposed to be flying out to them last Thursday.

Normally they come to us and stay for a week on the way back over to the UK.

We've written and said No, don't come. You were dead right not to let that couple stay with you.

Having re-read my post I just want to make it clear that I did not mean those who made plans and went before all this kicked off a few weeks / month back. I meant those who have gone out after and with all the travel advice that was given out.

They managed to get on the plane are now flying back to England. Landing in Luton, but have to find their way to Rotherham
