Helllooooo

Hi everyone

As weird as everything is at the moment the days are absolutely zooming by!

I kept meaning to pop in but I've been so busy...then realised this morning I hadn't been on VV since last Friday! :o :o

We are all ok here...it's amazing how quickly we've got used to lockdown. :?

Almost 4 weeks in and another 2 taking us up to 26 April. Pedro Sánchez has said the government will see how things are leading up to the May bank holiday. After then it might be that there will be lessening of restrictions. We'll see.

My dad is doing fine...I ring him every day and MIchele about 3 times a day. Although yesterday dad did have a little weep on the phone saying how terribly he's missing us. :( We keep focusing on the future and say to dad when this is over we'll be on the first flight. I'm so desperate to see him and sis I'm sure I could run there quicker!

Betty next door knocks his lounge window whenever she's popping to the shops to see if dad wants anything. My uncle Vic has been a star of the highest order. As well as ringing dad every day he brings down freshly made food for dad gosh, about 4 times a week. He rings dad to say he's on his way, dad leaves his little mobility walker by the front door, Vic (who has a key) puts the food (and a dessert! ) on the walker seat, shouts yooo hooo Billy and dad jumps up to wave Vic away in his car.

I'm still exercising every day and having a swim. My appetite has definitely taken a nose dive though.

We can't see schools re-opening until September. We're presuming they'll return as normal and we'll just pick up where we left off.

My B2 students were very concerned about not having lessons as they all want to do the exam early July. I set up online classes which we do 3 times a week and are working out brilliantly. I've told them when lockdown ceases they can come to my house until I go to the UK. They're really happy to be doing this.

Boss Lady has been fab. We've all been paid right up to Easter then we have to effectively be unemployed. We had to sign ERTE forms online which have gone to the gestoria. Our social and pension is still getting paid and when the ERTE forms get approved we can, online, claim the dole which will be full pay. I've never claimed dole money before.

Our dearest friends Gez and Sharon (Don has known Gez since they were 5) are having a sad time of it. A week last Tuesday Mick, Sharon's dad, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was sent home from hospital and is receiving palliative care at Gez and Sharon's house. Sharon was a nurse before becoming a mental health nurse so along with Rose, her mum, he's having the best care.

A friend of ours from Jose's was extremely ill with Covid but we heard last night he's now out of intensive care so that's great.

It was our 30th wedding anniversary on Monday and instead of being in Nerja we were in the garden. Don got a refund from the hotel and we can go when everything is settled.

We still go out every night at 8pm to clap for the health workers and it always brings a lump to my throat.

I haven't got time to catch up on the posts so I'm hoping everyone is well and sending you much love.

Keep taking care.

Hellooooo you! :D 8-) xxx

Great to "see" you, and I'm really glad Jose is recovering :D Sad news about Sharon's dad, so sorry! :(

Great to hear that your dad is being so well looked after xxx

Online has been brilliant for keeping classes and such going - it's been a godsend for Zumba, for sure! Your students must be very grateful 8-) :) xxx

Happy Anniversary for last Monday, lovely to have your trip to Nerja to look forward to 8-)

I'll be clapping tonight at 8pm, we did it last week and it did feel emotional, especially having family members on the NHS frontline.

Loads of love to you and yours, Al ((((((((x)))))))))

Hi Ally, another who is glad to see you knocking about.

It is als good to know that you are all coping well, helping each other out and generally pulling for one another.

It looks to be the 'in' thing at the moment, long may it continue once this is all over.
