A few weeks back I bought a 2nd outdoor wildlife camera; not an expensive one, but it does the job. Anyway in the box was a card saying something along the lines of congratulations; we've chosen 20 lucky people to received a free camera. Just leave a review on Amazon, give your order number and we will send you another one for free. Obviously they're out for lots of good reviews but I figured why not humour them and see what happens (and reading reviewing every box has that congratulations card in it; not just 20 lucky people).... and at the end of the day; it really isn't any skin off my nose, is it?

So 4 star review posted and instructions followed; got a reply from them within 24 hours asking to please increase it to 5 star.... as said; no big deal for me so I did and then received another email confirming a free camera has been shipped off; expected delivery this Saturday. Well, I'm not holding my breath at all and it would be a very pleasant surprise if I did receive one.

Congratulations ria well I got an e email from Amazon this morning saying i had won a gift do a survey so I did just basic info so I chose a phone had to pay a £1-00 postage I chickened out thought it was a con ?

It didn't ask any sensitivity information ria just general stuff usually they want a mobile number and because I don't have a mobile I'm never eligable anyway I never give account info or stuff anyway

I’ve seen reviews on Amazon which start with sentences along the lines of “I was sent this item in exchange for an honest review...”

I get sent products by Boots for reviewing, but there’s always an icon by the reviews which states that it’s by a member of their customer review panel. This last week I’ve reviewed four hair products, around £40 worth in total. It was awful and I’ve reflected that in the reviews. They even sent a bottle of Ralph Lauren perfume last year which they were selling at £70.

I also do product reviews for Argos. I’ve not had as many things from them though as you have to be very quick to sign up when they send out an email request for testers for certain products. Recently we’ve had some Lego sets and me and Joe built a tablet computer which I then reviewed. That particular set was retailing at around £300

Thing is Frank, it really isn't a bad camera at all, esp for it's price - under £40 - so I was happy to give it a 4 or 5 star review. Had it been rubbish I wouldn't want a 2nd one anyway and wouldn't have given a review at all
