Revitive circulation booster

Postby TheOstrich » 14 Jul 2021, 19:11

Just a long shot (so putting it here on on Café rather than Health).

:?: Has anyone got or had one of these thingies? They're currently being advertised a lot on the TV, by the likes of Eamon Holmes and previously Botham.
How did you find them, are they any good, do they work?

Mrs O and I have been wondering about one, but certainly not at that price ....

Ossie, as a fellow sufferer with cardiovascular problems I would try a few basics before taking out a new mortgage for some tech.

For hands slowly clench, hold, and unclench your fists ten times, rest and repeat three times, do it a couple of times a day.

For legs and feet: Stand with toes on the edge of a stair and rise up as far as you can go then lower as far down as possible then back to level again, rest and repeat ten times and a set of three twice a day. Sit on a dining chair and raise your toes up as far as they will go so that your calves are stretched, hold for 5 seconds and release. Again ten reps in a set of three twice a day. Go for frequent gentle walks, as many as you like. Wear compression socks for a while each day especially when sitting watching TV or at the computer for longish periods; and you could try a foot pillow to raise your legs in bed.

For both drink plenty of cold water and hot tea (green or black) about four pints in total per day or just keep well hydrated. Keep the alcohol down.

I don't do them all the time, just when I feel things getting worse and for as many weeks as it takes. They are from the LGI cardio team.

Give them a try for a fortnight and if they don't do the job you have lost nothing.

Thanks, Frank. I'll try those. It's for legs and feet (especially in my case due to sitting at the computer.) :D

OK, so when I say to rest between reps of ten I mean give it a few minutes to let your body get back to some sort of normal before going again - a minute or two.

I do not do the hot and cold foot bath thing - another trick. That's a bowl of very hot water and a bowl of cold to dip your feet in. You start hot and keep swapping every three to four minutes for five or six times each ending on cold. It's a faff as the bowls needs topping up.... and wet carpets.

I have not used a machine so cannot comment one way or another, but the exercises do give some relief especially in autumn and winter. Good luck whichever way you go.

We got one last year. Tried it several times but it id not seem to have any effect.
So sent it back and got a full refund.
Kept doing exercises and walking.
Went for a pedicure two weeks ago and was told there was nothing wrong with my feet. I am still very sensitive on my soles.

I realise it’s hard to motivate yourself to do some exercises, but once you start, they will become automatic - rather than spending silly money on a machine.

  No! But I’ve put together a little routine of exercises that I do most days given that due to restrictions, I only get to the gym one day a week, and you very quickly get used to doing them.

Sorry, meant to say, thanks for that, Cruiser, you're the only one we've found who has tried the machine out.
Glad you got your refund! 8-)
