Good Morning Monday

Postby cruiser2 » 19 Jul 2021, 06:32

Good morning everybody,
Another hot day. Been up since 6.00 a.m as I could not sleep.
Going to the post office and the bank and for some shoping.
Then more gardening and housework when the sun moves round to the back.
Ally, hope your dad is getting better.
Have a good day everybody.

Morning Cruiser, morning everyone

Overcast, grey and not very warm

It's so peaceful at the moment, in the mornings, we over-slept

Hope your dad is getting better Ally xx

Washing machine going and Grumpy will be out doing stuff outside that he hasn't been able to, because of the heat. I'm going to vacuum the mattress before I put clean sheets on it.

No doubt it will warm up later, then I'll be in the pool 8-)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Have a good day Cruiser :) xxx

Enjoy your swim Jan :) xxx

It's going to be another scorcher here. It got to 31° yesterday, and is forecast to be the same today - it's already very hot! Too hot for town, I'm meeting Em at the Starbucks ten minutes walk from here later. Mick and I will pop up to see D when he finishes work, he fitted her a new radiator yesterday and something needs tweaking. Zumba classes with no restrictions are starting tonight, but there's no aircon there so no chance

Take care in the heat everyone xxx

Good morning everyone

Another hot day here as well - I was meant to get up early and water, instead I got up early and went to Sainsbury's for a few things and then ended up having to do an hour and a bit work. Meant to be off today but hey ho.....

Hope everyone, esp Ally's dad, is doing well

Stay cool everyone (not often we get to say that, do we?   )

Morning all and a beautiful one it is too. Early cloud has now burned off and looks set to be another scorcher.
Too hot to do much.
I hope Ally and her dad are coming along OK.
They have window shutters abroad to keep the inside of the house cool. I might see if anyone sells them in this country!
Saundra, some people are so inconsiderate. Well done the locals though.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, it’s another glorious day. I’m going to the gym in a little while, I suspect it will be rather warm! Our EU Digital Covid certs arrived this morning, we were quite excited about that, it means we can travel within the EU without restrictions. We’ve saved them to our Covid tracker apps, and as a precaution I’ve scanned and printed off a few copies too. No real plan for the day, but it might involve sitting in the sun for part of it ;) Edward has gone to play golf.

I hope Ally’s dad is feeling better. Saundra, we were walking on the pier yesterday and were chatting to some coastguard guys who had filled eight big bags with rubbish from just two small local beaches - if you can carry it in, I can never understand why you can’t carry it out :x

It's the same here Saundra, people can be so disgusting the things they leave

Well we didn't get to sit outside yesterday, just as we were getting ready to set up the patio we had swarms of flying ants. They were everywhere, lots of comments on our local Fb page. It's years since I've seen it that bad. The birds were going mad plucking them from the sky, quite funny to watch. Luckily we have a good fan so didn't get too hot inside. The birds were still going mad pecking away at the garden till around 7ish.

Doing a quick visit to Westwood Cross before lunch. E had a text about his watch, bit strange as it came at 7.30pm on Friday, he was asked to call a Wilson on a completely different number. It probably is okay, but we're popping to the shop to check it out, better safe than sorry. Apart from a Tesco delivery this afternoon no other plans, hoping to spend the rest of the day in the garden.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Good morning folks.

Another non-sleeper here, up and down all night with a damp flannel and a spritz. Had all the windows open to get a breeze through but it never dropped below 23 °C indoors. Heading for 28 °C outside in the afternoon.

Success for whatever it is you are all doing today and thoughts for Ally and her dad.

A change of bedding and a bit of (very) light housework is all I have planned. No motivation for much else.

Enjoy the weather, but keep to the shade.

Afternoon all, it’s far too hot for me so I’ve now positioned myself in front of the fan. Bill’s mooching around trying to find a cool spot.

Bill had a 6am walk, we got back around 7.30. He usually has three walks a day but that’ll be it for today, it’s still forecast to be 25°c at 9pm.
I’ve cleaned the bathrooms, hoovered throughout, mopped any floors that can be mopped, done two loads of washing and ironed it too seeing as it quickly dried outside.

Tom’s gone into the school to carry on sorting out his classroom. The plan is that from September the kids will be the ones moving around the school rather than the teachers, which is how it’s been this year so they’ve had to cart all equipment and books around with them.
Joe and Amanda are in Edinburgh now until Sunday, they’ve finally got away after three holidays abroad were cancelled over the last year.

John’s back to working in the home office, he’s been in meetings for most of the morning though so I’ve had to creep around. He did have to break his isolation last night though and drive over to the office in Lichfield. Bob, one of John’s draughtsmen, was on a day’s holiday on Friday so hadn’t been there to bring his laptop home. He doesn’t have a car, or keys for the office for that matter, so wouldn’t have been able to get it and therefore wouldn’t have been able to work this week so the only thing for it was for John to drive over and get it and deliver it to Bob’s doorstep. I went with him to take advantage of the air con in the car for an hour
The office is completely closed this week which is unreal because this, Summer factory shutdown, is traditionally their busiest time of the year.

Have a good day all xx
