Morning Cruiser, morning everyone

Sunny, but with a chilly wind at the moment, but it will warm up soon 8-)

Watering done, coffee, then breakfast, then we'll head off to Ourique. Need salt for the pool, money on the phones, pick up a prescription, do the joy that is Pingo and then back home. Will have a coffee on the way back.

Meeting Jose, Luis and Ricardo at Chris and Lucy's this afternoon, as they want to strip the cork oak. Might pop down to the bar afterwards, but will probably head back home.

Salad for dinner.

Thoughts for Ally, dad and family xx

Keep meaning to ask Jen, how did E hurt himself?

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Cruiser and Jan; morning everyone

Cruiser, I quite like a good mooch around B&Q ;-) - have fun
Jan, hope you manage to get everything done. If you pop to the bar say hi from me
Jen - what did I miss? :(

Already been to Aldi and Sainsbury's this morning; Sainsbury's really are having stock issues - not sure if it's all over or just this particular store, but so many empty shelves. And typical - I didn't check my shopping list and forgot two fairly vital items. So going to head to Morrisons in a minute and see if they have the bits I forgot and also the bits I wanted but Sainsbury's didn't have ;-)

Ongoing vibes for Ally and her family, never far from my thoughts.

Have a good day all x

Saundra, growing up in South Africa, we didn't have a choice - there isn't public transport and everything is too far apart to walk / cycle. So generally everyone learns to drive the moment they turn 17 and do their test and get their licence as quick as they can.

Anyway - went to Morrisons; got the one item I forgot; but they too didn't have any sparkling water :( I need to have a look at the cost of a SodaStream, but I buy the store own brand cheap 2l bottles at 20p or so; and the SodaStream's I've seen are £75 for just the machine then you need to get refill gas canisters. I know the bottles are all plastic and I should stop them just for that reason, but the cost of the SodaStream is something I'm struggling to justify

Ria that's a lot of money £75 it would but a lot of bottles of water if you go to shops every week stock up when you can if they are in stock
I think these shortages are because it's summer and holiday shopping well I hope so safe driving

Morning all :D

Our weather's a bit upside down today, one minute showers, the next sunshine

Thinking of Ally and family xx

He doesn't know how it happened Jan, he just woke up not being able to move his neck, he thinks he must had laid awkwardly overnight. It has happened before, but usually only lasts 1/2 days. This time it's been very gradually easing since last Thursday, I've told him it must be his age ;) It's a lot better today.

Saundra I didn't learn to drive until my late 20's, a lot of women in my mother's age group never did learn. Just as well I can, E never learnt either, he wasn't interested in cars, when I met him he was just 20 (I'm 7yrs older) and it was all about motor bikes. Marrying me and taking on two children made that a tad expensive so he started to cycle everywhere, latterly it was a scooter and he was still riding that right up to retirement. Nowadays he has an unpaid taxi service.....me

We were planning to get out in the garden, I really want to pressure wash the patio, but not sure that will happen today. More medals so we'll be catching up on all the action again, go team GB :D :D :D

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all, changeable weather here, cloud, sun, heavy rain, light drizzle… I was at the gym for 9.30 as the trainer is going on holiday today. Then I met up with one of the other gym ladies and we went to buy a present for one of the others who had unexpected open heart surgery the week before last. We had all put in some money, so we were able to get her a pretty bracelet and some nice smellies. This afternoon I want to pop over to Miss Osc’s house and leave an anniversary card, their 19th is next Monday. She is coming to Dublin tomorrow and will check out the house at some stage, so can collect it then. We had offered to go to Wicklow and stay the night so they could go out, but I think SIL’s sister is going to visit them, so hopefully she will do it. No other plan for the rest of the day.

I learned to drive when living in London in 1972, Edward has never driven, he was never bothered plus his eyesight (prone to double vision) was a deterrent. I used to have my lessons on a Saturday morning all around Kensington and Hammersmith and passed my test first go. Now we have free travel, so in non-Covid times we use public transport a lot.

Afternoon everyone :)

Thinking of Ally and family xxx

I must admit not being able to drive is a big regret, but I have monovision and don't see in 3D, so like Osc's E my eyesight prevents it

I've been out all day, first into town to see J, then up to D's at lunchtime, then got a text from Em asking if I fancied a cuppa at the Starbucks on the retail park near here, so I trotted up there too, and have not long been home

Love to all xxx
