Not since I was told by a shop owner that the resident beggar in the High Street got dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon by car - he was apparently from an out-of-town "caravan site".

Before that, I would give cash, but it very much depended on who was doing the asking. Older down-and-outs yes, younger druggie types no. Just my personal stance - lot of crazyies on the streets of Brum, so needed to be careful .... :|

Not a chance,
A friend came out of Greggs with a pastie and offered it to the guy sat on the pavement who promptly said ,I don't want a f+++ing pastie give me some f+++ing cash

Yes I would do that too. I’m very careful about who I help though, there are groups of beggars who are dropped off around the city with identical handwritten notices.

I do not give to anybody in the street either cash or food.
I was told a long time ago someone could be watching where you put your purse or wallet so they could then snatch it off you.
