Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 31 Jul 2025, 05:57

Good morning.

After eight fantastic days in Scotland I'm getting the train back to Nottingham to spend two weeks with Craig before I fly home. :cute:

It's been so good seeing all our aunts, uncles and cousins and spending precious time with them. :D

On Monday sis and I were out having lunch with uncles Stefan and Stanley and we mentioned the lettering on grandad's gravestone was looking very worn but it was just part of a conversation.
Yesterday, out and about in the car we made an impromptu visit to the cemetery again having already been twice on this visit (gran and grandad are buried there and we buried mum and dad's ashes there with them) and to our absolute delight our two uncles were just clearing up some bits and bobs.
They'd both repainted all the lettering and it looks amazing.
We were blown away by their kindness and the fact they'd done it so promptly.
They're both nearing 80. These men have always been a huge part of our lives.
(We need a heart emoji!) :D

Craig will pick me up from the train station and no doubt a pint in the Doc's will be in order. :D

Have a great day.

Good morning Ally and everyone

Ally, glad you had such a fabulous time. Your uncles sound amazing. And

- 100% agree. Safe travels back to Nottingham.

Well a WFH day for me so nothing exciting to report. We have a yellow weather warning for rain and thunderstorms but I'm not holding my breath. The last few warnings didn't produce a drop of rain ;-) Having my nails done during my lunch break which will be nice.

Have a lovely day all, whatever it is you're up to x

Morning Ally, Ria and everyone

Warm outside already, so another hot one.

Small plants watered, now it's my turn.

Off to Castro Verde later. We desperately need to put the new plants into bigger pots, so need some pleasant looking one's for around the pool Not terracotta, stone one's, I think.

Salad for dinner again.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it’s dull here and a bit cooler. Edward has headed off to the golf club - he is really enjoying his golf at the moment, when not playing with someone, he will go to the club, hit a few balls, play a few holes on his own, he might only stay an hour. Dancing has taken a back seat for the moment, we’ll see what happens when the summer is over. No plan for the day, I might waft a duster around. Tesco delivery this afternoon.

Yesterday my phone died mid call with my brother. I had just finished doing an update, this is Edward’s old phone which has had problems with updates before. I lost my cellular connection, couldn’t get it back no matter what Edward tried. So now the phone is in phone hospital for a few days, and hopefully our local tech wizard Richie will be able to fix it, he thinks it is a hardware issue. In the meantime, I still have my old phone so am not totally bereft!

Morning all :D

Wet

Loved the film yesterday, by far the best in the franchise.

Up at silly o'clock as I have an appointment at our surgery for a diabetic blood test. They've just introduced a new online system, not sure what was wrong with the previous one, but for sure everything is so much more complicated booking anything there now. I ended up phoning and luckily got a nice receptionist who sorted it for me.

Looking out at the weather, don't think we'll be going anywhere else today.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Morning all!

It was misty when I walked George first thing but it’s cleared now and we have the occasional sunny spell and we’re forecast a dry day.

John’s off on his travels again, he’s gone to BMW in Oxford and he might be needed at Nissan in Sunderland next week. He was hoping to get a couple of days off towards the end of August, he has 22 days holiday to take before the end of the year, but it’s not looking likely at the moment.

Have a good day all :D

Success :Hi: :Hi:

Three large round planters and three new plants

Need to borrow some sack trucks, as they are really heavy and Grumpy can't carry them. A very nice man in the shop got them down for us and helped put them in the car :D

It started out as a shower day here, but this afternoon we're had a huge thunderstorm! Still, the rain is much-needed and the air feels much clearer now 8-) .Tesco this morning, with D, but Mick had a dental appointment first so.we were out of the house by 9am. Did a towel wash when we got home from shopping and that's in the dryer, and I've redone one of my nails, as it was peeling off.I

Becky took our apple cake effort into work (her turn to provide elevenses for the team meeting) and she messaged to say it was.a big hit! :D I would bake more often, but honestly I would be the size of a house if I did, as I can't resist cake

Love to all xxx
