Harry's results!

Postby Kaz » 25 Aug 2016, 13:31

He passed English, RE and PHSE, three of the four he was entered for. He even got a C for RE which is the first C grade GCSE ever attained at his school :D :D :D :D :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

He only got an F for Maths, but that was expected and his college is happy with that, as they are going to give him extra maths alongside his Sports B Tech course :D :D :D :D His arithmetic is excellent, but other aspects of maths he finds a bit more challenging.....

He has worked sooooo hard for all this, I'm so proud I could burst - when you think how he was written off aged three, when they said he might never even talk! Ya boo sucks to those 'experts' :P ;) :D :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

That is just brilliant Kaz - very VERY well done Harry!! :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

He did much better than me - I got a U for RE  Funnily enough it was the exam that I was most confident about, I even asked for extra paper a couple of times because the knowledge was flowing so freely from me :P

Absolutely! Well done Harry, go get 'em.

As for Maths I would not get too despondent.

I am good at maths, but it frustrates me greatly that everything 'numbers' is lumped into one big subject - it is not done with other subjects. The overwhelming majority of us get on perfectly well in life with arithmetic, percentages, a few common fractions, geometry and some basic (hidden) algebra. Get them right and they are all we need to survive.

Algebra: a = 32. 2a - 10 = ?

or 2 tins of beans at 32p with a 5p off voucher for each one = ?
