Iceland - the freezer shop.

Oh I know this is a bit snobbish, but I always thought of it as a chavpermarket.

So at the weekend my ex has an open house for M&S moving to London and for us to say a family 'goodbye'. She put on a spread of nibbles, and most of them were from Iceland.

What quality and what fabulous prices!

I called in today and was knocked out by its cleanliness, organisation, and the prices, even on branded goods. I'll be going back.

We have one in town and it's really good but I rarely shop in there because there's usually just one till open and a queue of people with full trollies wanting home delivery so getting served is a very slow process.

Ours in town is good for some stuff, but not a lot of fresh fruit and veg etc. It is fantastic for frozen nibbley bits, for parties and Christmas

They have some lovely nibbley bits don't they! Nice selection of frozen veg too.

I just remembered that we have another version of Iceland here, The Food Warehouse by Iceland, but it's on a retail park. I seem to recall when it opened that it'd be selling stuff you wouldn't normally find in many supermarkets, things like shark steaks, but I haven't actually been in there yet.

Husband is sitting here replete after devouring Iceland`s Chicken and Bacon Pasta
stir fry. Only £2. Say`s it is for 2 but he ate the lot.

Same here Frank, but then the only experience I've had with an Iceland is the one in Morden where I used to live and that really was chavpermarket personified. I need to have a look if we have one close'ish to where I live now, esp for the party nibbles - I love those

Spurred on by you Frank, I went into the one in Cannock this morning. I timed it well by going in just after 8, at that time the chavs would still be in their pyjamas, walking the kids to school before rushing home for Jeremy Kyle
I think it must've had a refit since I was last in and they've introduced some new ranges from what I could see. I'll go back sometime when John's with me as I couldn't bring much frozen food today.
