We're home!

Postby Diflower » 21 Oct 2016, 16:40

Hello :D
Been home a good few hours, getting off the boat was very efficient, we stepped off at 8.45, the taxi driver met us and we were here at 9.45 :)

We've had a truly fabulous time, visited some wonderful places (some definitely worth a longer stay), eaten scrumptious food, had gorgeous weather almost all the time.
We swam in one of the pools and enjoyed a jacuzzi more than once too.
Our day in Malaga, in the rain with Ally, was the absolute highlight, seven hours of total pleasure :D

Minnie has enjoyed holiday too, her favourite little Yorkie friend was there most days :)
Unfortunately we put the heating on and the boiler just made a funnyclicking noise...Andy is a hero and here now, but is, tbh, a bit stumped. He's put a new (pricey) valve in, but it's still not fixed...rather an expensive welcome home I fear :?

Still, good news is there was a brill launderette on board, and it only cost £2 for a load, wash and dry, so there's not much washing to do, just lots of sorting out :)
Bit shattered, will carry on catching up tomorrow

And hello to you too :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

Glad you had a lovely time, hope the boiler isn't going to be too expensive/long-winded sorting it out.

You'll have to have a huge catch-up

Thank you :)

Boiler fixed...the old valve was gunked up and shorting, which in turn burnt out a tiny bit of the actual electric board...total cost of bits £200. Andy was here a total of over 2 hours and only added £30  :D
Our emergency/holiday cash savings pot had £235 in it, so we handed over the lot...

We also came home to a very much smarter garden and kitchen, Adrian having done a terrific job with clearing, cutting back, plaster and paint, putting up new blinds...very well pleased with it :)

Cases not unpacked, have to spend time on re-organising summer/winter clothes etc...it will get done.

Welcome back Di, it all sounds wonderful! Apart from the expense of the boiler repair that is!

So glad you both had such an amazing cruise! :D

Oh that's great then Di, all sorted, and the kitchen and garden all smart for your return :D :D :D

Sorting the clothes has to be the worst bit of coming home from holiday, good idea to let it wait a bit ;)

Welcome home Di, so pleased you had a wonderful time :D :D :D Look forward to hearing about all the places you visited.

Glad the boiler was fixed, as we know only too well they're very expensive to replace.
