Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 01 Mar 2018, 06:24

Good morning.

March already!!

The rain finally arrived last night and looking at the gardens this morning it has been most welcome.

Rain forecast today so I'm more than happy to have a lazy day at home. :D :D

Hope everyone stays warm and safe in the UK. Spoke to mum yesterday and the snow was up to their kitchen window! :o

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all :)

Ally crikey, your poor mum and dad! Not as bad as that here yet, but it's forecast for later today.

Take care driving in this Cruiser xx

We just have a dusting at the moment, but it's very cold. I have a physio appointment at 9 so am leaving at about 8.20, allowing myself plenty of time to walk carefully! Then up to see D to make siure she's ok! No idea about pilates tonight, it will depend entirely on the weather!

Take care everyone :) xx

Good Morning all,
Got up early and am pleased to say that we have water and heating!!
It is snowing hard again so no chance of even trying to get the car out.
There is about 6" of packed snow behind the back wheels!!
Just had a knock at the door and it was our little gardening man who lives down the road.
He is going to Sainsburys and wanted to know if we needed any shopping.
What a kind thought. He is doing it for about 5 people who can`t get out.
I only needed a packet of ham and a couple of ginger ales as i have a delivery
from Sainsburys tomorrow teatime. Don insisted on me doing an online order and
said he would pay (i think the reason is that he is running out of red wine!!!!)
Keep warm and safe.

Lissie, what a kind neighbour! Careful in the car Cruiser.

Lots of snow here, all the local schools are shut and there is virtually no traffic. It's snowing now and there is a very cold wind. If it stays like this we'll be going nowhere today.

Keep warm and dry everyone.

eta - We're having pasta tonight! One of our neighbours is an Italian who used to have his own pizza place. On Thursdays he always makes a load of pasta for his family. He's made it but they can't get here because of the weather, so he's said come across later and pick some up if you like. So we will, because it's lovely. Result! :Hi: :Hi:

Sat in physio outpatients at the moment. The walk down was ok, bit slippy but I walked slowly ;) The receptionist said lots of people were cancelling, but the department looks busy enough :)

That's kind of your neighbour Lissie :) D's neighbour knocked to check she was ok too 8-)

Morning everyone

Just watching the news, looks quite bad over there. Take care all of you.

We just have high winds and a lot of rain :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: Will need to let some more water out of the pool again this morning

Won't be venturing too far, get some wood for the fire later and that's about it, I think.

Stay warm and safe everyone xx

Morning all, we have sunshine at the moment - with snow mixed in.

I took Billy out at 6.30am and it was coming down quite heavily then. He loved it!! It was quite deep in places and I found myself thigh deep in a ditch full of snow on the golf course at one point - I didn't know that there was a ditch there!! We got back just before 8 and I hitched a lift to town with John. He doesn't always go that way but Bob from his department needed a lift. He decided to do without a car and cycles into work, which is great until there's bad weather of any type and then he needs a lift :? I got the bus back from town, they're running rather late but the time waiting passed nicely as one of the practice nurses from the surgery around the corner was also waiting so I had someone to chat to.

Joe's in college this afternoon but before that he's got a driving lesson at 11. We expected his instructor to cancel but as of yet he hasn't. Our road is terrible and the main roads aren't brilliant either, it'll give him the experience of driving in snow anyway. I probably should check that college is open, all of the local schools are closed anyway.

Have a good day all, and please stay warm and safe xx

Back from the dentist.
Main roads are clear but side roads still have snow on them. It has started to snow again. Light flurrys. It is a very cold wind. In the car it said it was minus four. Hands were cold even though I had gloves on.
Have to go back to the dentist this afternoon.
We were the first patient in. The dentist said a journey which normally only takes 20 minutes has taken him nearly an hour.
Got the CH on full blast.
Saw plenty of cars which had only used the windscreen wipers to clear the snow. Some side windows still had snow on them restricting visibility.
Went out yesterday and got enough food for at least three days.
Stay safe everybody
