Off to the airport at 11 to pick up the Harrington's. We do this every year and they call it their 'pre holiday holiday'.

Toni, Pete & Pierce are a lovely family and we always have a fantastic time with them. We'll be out for lunch which will extend to being out for dinner.

Pierce was 16 in June Di.

They've been coming over every year since he was 4 - it's been lovely watching him grow up into the lovely young man that he has become.

Morning Ally, Di and everyone

Lovely morning, wind has dropped, the sun is out and so are the tractors, clearing yet more land Obviously, that fire has made a few of them think

Watering done, plants chatted to, especially the one's with babies Sadly, the rabbits have decided to munch all my aloe veras and succulents, even though I've sprayed them washing up liquid and water so I have a few headless plants and a few stumps

Today is furniture day

The wardrobe is going in the second bedroom, the chest of drawers in the lounge and the bed frame and mattress on the back terrace We'll shift everything round when the tiling is eventually finished, grouted and cleaned.

Di, a toasted treacle at Mabel's sounds just right! It's pouring here! Much needed, so I won't complain, well not yet anyway I

Bet those rabbits had a feast Jan!

Out in a while, first into town to collect my prescription - they had to order it in - then I'll walk up to D's so we can go food shopping. Better dig my waterproof jacket out! I did the ironing yesterday, so I won't have that to face later

Toni whapped a photo from the plane and Pierce looks so grown up!

I see him every summer (Toni and Pete come over every February too for a long weekend but Pierce stays at a friends house) so I always see a huge difference in him every August.

So excited to see them....they'll melt in this heat!

Morning all, we are at the airport, killing time before our flight to Manchester and onward by coach to Blackpool. It’s a lovely morning but quite chilly compared to recently. Got parked near the terminal building which is always good, for weekends like this we pay the weekend rate in the short term car park as it is cheaper than a taxi.
