Good morning Monday

Postby Ally » 09 Dec 2019, 06:55

Good morning.

It's another holiday here today and I had to think for a moment what day it was!

Sunny and forecast 22 degrees. 8-)

Off for a hilly 12km walk with my personal trainer. ;)

Back to put up the Christmas tree that I didn't get round to putting up on Friday.

After that methinks it's a sofa and book day. :D

Have a good one.

Hope you're feeling better today Osc? xxxx

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Wet :Hi: :Hi: Not pouring down, more that mizzley rain that makes you wet quickly. And which dozy person left the cushions out yesterday  But the rain has mucked up my plans for this morning, but plan b will swing in.

Plan b is get the housework done, although mopping the floor might wait until it's drier outside ;) as I leave the windows open, so it dries quicker.

Will then make some burgers for tonight and we plan on going into Ourique this afternoon. The library doesn't open until 2.00 this afternoon, so we'll go in after then and then head to Nelson, to pay him for coming up late week and into the drogaria, to see if Marco does chimney brushes. One of our chimneys needs cleaning and I was quoted 50€ per chimney  and no discount for two

Hope you're feeling better this morning Osc xx

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

A walk in 22° sounds great, Ally 8-) xx

Morning, Cruiser :)

Hope you get your brushes Jan! :)

How are you feeling today, Osc? ((((x))))

I was about to say it's dry here, but it literally just started pouring down :o  Usual Monday plans here, meeting Em and Jaq in town for lunch and a gossip :) Taking my cards to the PO to post, a bit on the early side but it's a job out of the way 8-)

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning all, it is quite a nice bright morning here and Edward has gone to play golf. Thank you all for asking how I am, I am not 100% but getting there. I am getting increasingly annoyed trying to track something I ordered from Amazon - they allegedly tried to deliver last Monday, which is not true as I was here at the time they said. Supposedly coming with a particular courier company after it was farmed out by UPS. Fastway couriers tracking says it was loaded on their van on Thursday morning but nothing since then  Of course, you can’t contact them by phone, no number anywhere on their website. Their “contact us” form has merely produced an automated promise of a reply with 24 hours

Poor Miss Osc is having a nightmare. They got through the vomiting bug or so she thought, but Kellie has been sick again this morning after two days vomit-free. Michael set off for school but came back as he felt unwell. She and SIL were to go and see Hozier on Wednesday but have decided not to go - we were to babysit but she wants me kept away from any possible exposure to the germs, plus SIL has a problem with his ankle and would find it hard to stand. In the meantime, she is very busy at work coming up to Christmas but is trying to work at home today to look after Kellie. I wish there was something I could do to help :o

good morning everyone...

Ally, I'm putting my tree up next weekend only - looking forward to making the place a bit more festive. I've put a few things out but not much.
Jan, will you be OK to sweep the chimneys yourself? Be careful x
Cruiser, when are you off?
Kaz, enjoy your day
Osc, sorry to hear the family isn't well and not getting rid of the bug... there definitely is something doing the rounds here as well; a few of my friends are complaining of not being well. Vibes for a speedy recovery for all of you

Well, I got the anticipated phone call from mom yesterday afternoon; she's not coming for Christmas after all - as much as I am disappointed I am not surprised and as said was expecting the call. Whilst her flight had been booked with assistance requested she's just not able to face the train journey to the airport - it's all just to overwhelming for her to think about at the moment. The past two weeks have been very emotionally draining for her and have taken their toll; she's really struggling. Instead the plan is that she will come over next year - so I'll fly out the weekend before Easter, and then bring her back with me - I'll take the two weeks either side of Easter off and and then either she'll fly back to Germany on her own or Karl will go with her - Frank has said he'll pick her up from the airport so it'll be a lot easier for her. I am just worried as she'll be on her own for Christmas (we'd all made plans to be here as mom was going to be here) but mom is quite happy to just have time to herself and she doesn't want us to change our plans. And I'm sure some cousins and friends will pop by and we'll all call / face time etc... (she'll be quite sick of us all at the end of it I'm sure :D )

Well, a usual work day for me and then home to give the fish tank a quick clean. I've been dithering about it for some time but I finally yesterday put it up to give away and some chap who works at a care home is taking it and the fish for the home so the residents have something to look at. I've had fish for a very long time but just don't really have the space / time for the tank and have been wanting to rehome it for some time.

Have a lovely day all and enjoy whatever it is you're up to x

Sorry your mom not going to you for Christmas Ria, but if she feels happier staying at home, then best place for her.

Osc, sorry the bug is still going round and I know how you feel, but take care of yourself. There will be other times you'll be needed xx

The sun has come out now and it's really hot again 8-)

Cleaning done, burgers made, music blasting out  :Hi: :Hi:
