Good Morning Sunday

Postby JanB » 06 Sep 2020, 06:09

Morning everyone

Pleasantly cool at the moment, but the heat will ramp up soon. Stupendous sunrise this morning :D

Will be out in an hour or so, doing the Pingo run for stuff for today. I'll also stock up on beer, water and wine ;) You will then find me, hot and sweaty, in the kitchen, cooking a load of starters and desserts. Will have to wait until I get to the supermarket to find out what I'll be doing  I have planned on asparagus, wrapped in presunto, with a cheese and cream sauce, as well as baked onions, also wrapped in presunto, with garlic, cream and cheese inside. Poached pears for afters. But I have a couple of other recipes in mind, just in case

The off to a late lunch with friends.

Back to do nowt

Hope to hear more improvement with E and take care of yourself Jen xx

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Getting rather warm now.

I di like Pingo on a Sunday morning, early, it's virtually empty and the shelves are full :D

We were on our way back, via the petrol station on the IC1, when I remembered the presunto

Yes, it as on the list, yes I had checked I had everything  So back we went and it was quite full

I tried slicing the presunto I bought in the market, but I just can't get it thin enough.

Right, off to get hot

Good morning, it’s dull and cool here.

We’re off into Stafford shortly and then back to make toad in the hole for lunch.
Had to laugh yesterday. Joe had gone to meet his friend Zak, they usually just mess about with their cars or go shopping for ridiculously priced trainers in Birmingham. I heard him come home so went downstairs to say hello and as I glanced through the stairs into the kitchen as I walked down, it became clear what he’d been up to when I saw a carrier bag on the breakfast bar. He’d driven to Manchester to go to Old Trafford to buy himself a football shirt (he has a collection going back to when he was a toddler). Good practice for him for when we can finally use our season tickets I suppose

Have a good day all!

He has gone to the dark side Jo!
Your food does sound lush Jan. Saundra enjoy the tea and toast.
Sunny here atm but there is a lot of cloud around. Chicken for Sunday dinner and some relatives have given Mrsc a load of apples from their tree, so she is making an apple crumble as well. :)
Son and his gf will be coming, which is nice.
Jen, sending lots of vibes for you and E.
I need to trim the Salix in the back garden soon, it is getting a bit wild and woolly looking.
Have a good day all.

Morning all :D

Lovely and sunny again.

E's nicely settled on a new ward, still in a room on his own, but it looks lovely and he has a big window with a nice view. Also a big TV etc so plenty to keep him occupied. The room move was traumatic, it was so painful they had to dose him up with extra morphine. He was back to BP and temp checks every 2hrs through the night so didn't get much sleep. He's still bed bound, but looking on the bright side, he's no longer in HDU so the Royal Free have now agreed to accept him for all the heart checks, still waiting for a bed, but he's had another Covid and MRSA swab in readiness so hopefully not too long now. The sooner Mr.P knows what happened, the sooner they can decide on a plan going forward.

I managed 7hrs sleep last night, a first since E's been in hospital so feeling a bit more with it. Nothing much planned, he's called 3 times already, I'm sure I'll get a lot more as the day goes on

Hope you all have a good day, thanks for all the good wishes xx

That's better news Jen :D And glad you got some sleep x

Ouch to the move though - some-one really should devise a better way of shifting from bed to bed.

Afternoon everyone :)

I posted this morning but clearly it didn't send

We've had a wonderful day, caught the ferry up the estuary to Salcombe (I love boats so that was good fun!) had a lovely wander, then lunch at the Ferry Inn, sitting outside enjoying the stunning view across the water. The weather has been good although it started to rain on the walk back up from the ferry to our apartment. Very happy with the location here, I doubt we'll have to use the car much if at all :? :D

Jen, I'm glad E is more comfortable now xxx

Love to all xxx

Afternoon all, mixed day weather wise here, but at least no rain. I’ve been getting our stuff ready to go away on Tuesday, and Edward has been doing stuff in the kitchen including making some nice apple and cranberry muffins. Saundra, we’re flicking between cycling, soccer and golf. Just about to do some more pottering about.

Jen, glad to see you had a good sleep and that E is more settled. Hopefully this week you will both get some more info on what is going to happen.
