a very heavy cold and cough during which my voice had progressively got weaker and squeekier,I had an appointment at local med centre where I was checked and told that chest was clear.
Couldn't understand the problem with my voice which has got a lot better the cold and cough gradually cleared.

However the lady I saw said " how long have you had that ? " and pointed to the side of my neck, I had never noticed anything.

So off she went to duty Dr and came back with ,we are sending you to Q.A .hosp ENT dept for them to have a look.

I couldn't help wondering if the Cancer I had on a vocal chords in 2003 had returned.

Well off I went today and after having the camera and light up my nose and down to my throat for a check of my vocal chords- all ok thankfully-, but the guy I was seeing couldnt really understand about the side of my neck so now I have to wait for an ultrascan.

But just to finish my tale ,my God seeing the inside of my throat / vocal chords on the screen ! It was like there was an Alien living in my throat ,never seen anything like it!

Best of luck with it, Vic.

I had a few endoscopies years back with the view on screen, won't say where, but certainly not my vocal chords, and the aliens sure are in there!

 Frank  I had a gastroscopy just before the first lockdown - there was a huge screen to look at, but as I had stupidly elected to have the procedure without sedation I was too busy trying not to choke, and didn't look   :cute:

I hope all will be well Vic x

I always looked when I had a colonoscopy, it was fascinating. Until they started to cut off the polyps

Vic, not to worry you but please ask the GP to give your heart a check over as well? An ex- colleague of mine a few years back had an ongoing cough that he couldn't shake and his voice changed as well - turns out (if I understood it right) calcification in his arteries meant pressure on the vocal cord that usually wouldn't be there; he ended up having heart surgery.

So as said - don't want to worry you but definitely something to bear in mind, have checked out and hopefully rule out x
