Good Morning Saturday

Postby JanB » 14 Oct 2023, 06:25

Morning everyone

Autumn has arrived  Rain and thunderstorms last night and more wet stuff forecast for today and a cool 27C

I will be doing the cleaning that I didn't get around to yesterday  and Grumpy will, no doubt, be getting in my way

Rummage in the freezer for a curry and goulash for dinner tonight.

Lots of rugby for him, I'll read.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, sunny and cold here.
A cool 27c indeed!
Not much doing today, plenty of rugby to watch - MrsC does like to see the various Hakas - and looking for a birthday present for our son.
MrsC's uncle Jim's trip to the doctor's didn't go well. Two buses failed to turn up, he had to walk down to another stop to catch one, then when he got to the GP's the doctor said that he wasn't experienced enough to give him an injection (presumably a cortisone injection?) so here's a prescription for some gel to rub on. (This is for when Jim fell over after climbing over a fence and hurt his shoulder).
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, it’s a glorious morning here. I slept through to 6.45 and feel very rested. I got up before 8am, put on a wash and then went for a walk on the pier, it was beautiful but very cold, 4 degrees. Lots of stuff on my list today, I want to put away summer clothes, take out winter ones, get a case from the attic as I have an overnight trip to Birmingham next week and want to check that it fits hand baggage measurements. Next week is shaping up to be quite busy so I want to get ahead of stuff today and tomorrow. Edward will be doing kitcheny things, and later of course it will be Ireland -v- New Zealand tonight, rugby fever has gripped the country, all sorts of events are being cancelled so people can watch. I’m not bothered about rugby but like to see Ireland do well, and if they win this it will be historic. We’ll watch Strictly up until match time and finish it afterwards.

Good morning everybody.

A cool 15C here. Still resisting putting the CH on. Hadjust got in the car at 7.00 a.m to gofot the paper when it lashed down. I thought I was going to get wet
just walking from the car into the little Tesco even though I can park right at the front. But the rain had stopped by the time I had got there.

Since breakfast have been to the big Tesco for bananas and other shopping. Called at the chemist as I had ordered repeat pescription. It is the eye drops.
Other customers came in and were served. After waiting nearly 30 minutes, I was told to go home and they would deliver it.
It has come while I have been typing this. Firts time I have had to wait like this. Having been going there for many years. It is now owned by the son of the
original owner. It was a relief chemist who was doing the dispensing who I had not seen before. Very slow. At times there were at leadt six customers waiting for pescriptions.

Am going out to a friend so she can order a new iron for me from Amazon. She orders quite a bit so I should get it quicker and possibly cheaper.
Have had a letter to say I am getting the Winter Fuel Allowance of £600.00 as I was born before 1943. I will not spend it all at once!!

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all :D

Lovely and sunny, but a tad windy

Autumn seems to have arrived here too Jan, in spite of the sunshine the temperature has definitely dropped. It's been a steady 22degrees indoors for a couple of weeks, but this morning it's down to 20.5 :o
Poor Jim, sorry his visit to the GP didn't go well Crommers
I'm not a rugby fan Osc, and I will be watching Strictly all the way through, but it would be nice for Ireland win.
Hope you find an iron you like and it's not too pricey Cruiser.

No plans for today, we had a good lie in and plan to be extremely lazy.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all, it’s sunny after a showery start.

I had my flu jab at the surgery around the corner first thing. I was there and back in 7 minutes and that included me asking if I was due my pneumonia jab, the nurse checking and then going to another room to get one to jab me with. I only asked because she’d got my details on the screen so I thought I could make an appointment on the way out if it was due! I suppose it’s saved them an appointment slot.

Joe’s since been round for his flu jab, he was also due his pneumonia one this year but he’d booked that and had it last Saturday and then had his Covid jab last Sunday.

Cruiser, that sounds like the pharmacy on our estate. I avoid it if I can, yet it was brilliant when it first opened but a different pharmacist runs it now and the service is terrible. Plus they only allow four people in at a time so there’s usually a queue waiting outside, whatever the weather.

Off to sort out the garage now, and then we’re going to reward ourselves for a job well done with a trip out for coffee and cake

Have a good day all :)

It's really warm out there now, washing is dry and Grumpy is re-doing some of the grout in the pool.

A lovely blue sky and warm 27C, as opposed to the cool one I was expecting 8-)

Jo, isn't the pneumonia jab one for life any more? The one's we used to get here were for five years, but Grumpy had his a couple of years ago and was told that it was a one off.

I had mine back in England, many years ago.

Enjoy your coffee and cake :D

Jo, the pharmacy in our village isn't brilliant either. We go to one a couple of miles away.
I got a text this morning reminding me to top up my mobile phone credit. So went off and bought an O2 top up. Which is nice for MrsC, because she's the one with an O2 contract - I'm with EE.
Ho hum, back to the shop...

Morning all :)

It's pretty chilly here, but lovely sunshine - crisp :) The usual Saturday stuff here, out for breakfast then round to D's. We walked Fraggle round the docks - that blew away the cobwebs!

We use the Tesco pharmacy now, it's excellent, no issues whatsoever with it.

Enjoy the rest of your day, everyone xx
