Lunch sounds like a fabulous idea Ally, esp a long one! enjoy x
another sort of usual work from home day for me... the usual work bits and bobs, plus a vet appointment and then hopefully a call to say the car is fixed (and not expensive). Bless Thomas (my nephew) he doesn't have college on a Thursday so is picking me up for said vet appointment - two cats in carriers and two humans in a 3-door mini; that'll be fun Then have a friend popping round this evening - we both quite enjoy crafting and want to come up with some ideas of things to craft throughout the year. So a lovely evening of natter and planning (plus a glass or two of prosecco no doubt)

It is 14C. We have had rain again and there are still grey clouds.
Am taking the decorations down today. They will be put back in the loft till December.

I hope to finish typing a report which one of my aunties did when she was part of the medical team on a ship going to Gibraltar in 1944.
It makes very interesting reading how a cruse liner which had ben used as a troop ship was now being used as a passenger ship with
several young chilren.

Morning all its rained a lot here a lot of village are flooded again and in Lincolnshire plus caravan site in,Driffield up the road people's business ruined
So sad lack of care from environmental department all talk and no action
My decorations are down as well

Morning all, it’s sunny and dry here, for however long that lasts. Dance practice this morning then back to have Kellie for a few hours so Miss Osc can work while the office is closed with no phone calls to interrupt her. Apparently they were stopping Edward’s brother’s sedation yesterday afternoon. His two sisters went to the hospital, but when one of them spoke to Edward afterwards, she was a bit garbled, first she said life support then sedation, so we don’t really know but the next 12 hours would be crucial. Heard nothing since.

Saundra it’s exactly the same around here! When most of the city flooded in ‘07 there was a lot of talk about clearing the drains etc etc but have they upped their game? Not a bit As soon as there’s any significant rain it’s puddling up over blocked drains….

Kaz and Saundra, I get that drains need to be kept clear etc, but I honestly also think that one huge issue is over development / building everywhere. Every foundation / road / driveway that's built and tarred over means less area for water to naturally drain down to the water table - the water has to go somewhere so it will find the easiest route. Drains weren't built to cope with the amount of water they have to deal with these days. Developers (planners) really need to look at water permeable drives / soakaways in gardens when building.

I agree ria why build on flood planes there is building developments every where its dreadful so much flooding
