Afternoon all, gorgeous here too. We had breakfast out on the terrace and just stayed there. In for a break now, and to have lunch, then wandering up to the Strawberry Fair in Michael's school.

Whooo it's a hottie!!! I have the desk fan going in the living room, windows open (no doors, as Charlie is firmly in whilst I am on the laptop) and I've closed the curtains that are really just a window dress into the conservatory, just to darken the living/dining room so it's a bit cooler. The conservatory is really unbearable

So we (Tom and I) went out today to Finchale Abbey, a local ruin on the Wear riverbanks. It's very pretty, the river is gentle there with a lot of stones which ripple water and it sounds gorgeous, there's a lot of trees and greenery......perfect calm place. Called in for a spot of lunch and a glass of wine on the way back.

I popped to Donna's later last night, Tom and Amy were there, John was in with the kids as D was working, but when I got there poor Lily had burned her hand and was in a lot of pain Total accident (although it has to be said, one that has been waiting to happen for a long time) but bless her she just wanted to 'wash her hands' - IE running the burnt one under a cold tap....for ever! I think she was screaming and crying all the while I was there, poor little love. All she wanted was her mammy.....but at least I was a second choice

Have a lovely - hot - rest of Sunday!! Enjoy!

It's a rum 'un. Steve next door reckons it might have been an attempted car theft but the police were there last night, this morning (plus a scene of crimes van) and this afternoon for a couple of hours. That's a lot of police time for an attempted car theft, so I reckon there's a bit more going on.

I will find out!

Right. It seems to be a revenge attack. Not against the woman who live there, but her son. He is about 18, massively cocky and has a right attitude.
They were apparently trying to smash their way into the house to get at him. When they failed they smashed up the car on the drive.
If somebody is as mad as that at you, you are going to know who they are; nobody gets that mad randomly. So its probably about money, drugs or a girl.
