How could I have forgotten Tigger
Tigger is the year old black lab who lives with S, next door but one.
S flew to Germany early this morning but his dog boarder can't collect Tig till tomorrow morning.
So Bb walked her this morning, and I've been round to let her out, have a play and top up her water, and will go again later.
Then Bb will walk her again when he gets in, and will let her out again tonight.

Can't have her here, it's a long time since our house was pup-proof :D

Like Janb, I have had problems with a repeat prescription.
We can now do it electronically. Put in User ID and a password and it will show you what prescription you can order. Did this on Sunday.
Phoned the surgery on Tuesday to make sure it had been accepted and authorised.
Went to the chemist yesterday to pick it up. Told it had not come through the system.
Went today and again it had not come on the system to the chemist.
So back to the surgery. They had done a hard copy and it wa several minutes before the prescription was found. They were waiting for the chemist to pick it up.
So back to the chemist to have it made up.
It has never happened before since the electronic system was introduced.
May make a formal complaint about.

Went and paid my 2.50€ and was told to wait.

So did,

But when the lady who came in after me was called in before me, off I went and got my prescription.

Doctor slightly baffled that I wasn't Dona Maria something or other, but did it anyway

I'm getting more Portuguese as I live here longer ;) 8-)

They went over to electronic repeat prescriptions when we were in Sutton Coldfield; you still had to request them manually but they then sent them to the chemist electronically. The trouble was, you were stitched up because they always sent them to the local LloydsPharmacy. But what if it was more convenient, occasionally, for you to use Asda, or Boots in town? The system was inflexible. I opted out of the system, but Mrs O opted in to it. However, not long after, there was a total fiasco with the surgery adamant they had sent a repeat prescription to LloydsPharmacty, and the chemist adamant they hadn't received it. The surgery receptionists were completely unhelpful (par for the course at that surgery) and we finished up demanding to see and complaining to the practice manager. Never did get to the bottom of what went wrong, but I was far more inclined to believe the chemists, who at least took us seriously and didn't act like total jobsworths.

Down here, it's the same system, manual request following by electronic referral across to the chemist, but they will only issue repeat prescriptions covering 28 days - this is a Dorset NHS ruling, and it's a bit of a pain. It was 56 days supply in Birmingham. And the local pharmacy insists on 3 working days before you can collect it, so it's not just a question of waiting while they make it up, it's two separate visits. I've already had one mistake with mine, the surgery's fault as they inadvertently only ordered one out of eight tablets. By the time I'd got it sorted (and had to wait a further 3 days for the balance), I'd run out of medication ....

Until recently I got my repeats by clicking an email link on the surgery website, which would then be ready at the Lloyd's which is attached to the practice.

This worked really smoothly, but a few months ago it all changed as they signed up to the new sooper-dooper NHS Patient Services, via which portal you log in to make appointments, request repeats and access all sorts of info.

It took ages to get registered for the damned thing, and now it hardly ever works! I had run out of my psoriasis skin gel due to the confusion, so the pharmacist took pity on me, gave me the gel on the understanding that the paper request I put in that day would cover it!

Oh and last time, this Saturday just gone, it had been made up with the wrong name label on! It's a shambles, so I am going back to paper (manual?) repeats, as at least that seems to work :?
