Good morning all.

It's dull, dry and rather warm here.

Been for my morning walk, but wish I hadn't put my overcoat on, as I became rather too hot.

Nothing planned for today, as we had a busy weekend, and there are a few jobs to do around our apartment.

Hope you all enjoy today.

Good morning, everyone!

It's somewhat scary weather down here in Dorset; I guess we are within the fringes of that hurricane. It must be quite a big storm. It's so dark, we have the lights on. There was a very red sun trying to peek through earlier, now it's just dark clouds scudding across a grey sky. There's a strong breeze from the south, and it's extremely muggy. Noticeably, all the birds have disappeared .... :? Hope you're OK there on the coast, Osc.

Confusion at the Waitrose café this morning when I was told they couldn't accept my money as it was no longer in currency. :o Thing was, I'd given them an old £10 note, and the young, harassed girl on the till had got momentarily discombobulated and thought it was the tenners they couldn't accept, not the old £1 coins!! I protested, she checked and then apologised profusely.

I also got into trouble at the pharmacy, picking up a repeat prescription. They couldn't find it (par for the course) so I helpfully remarked "Have a look on the wrong shelf; that's where you found it last time ..." That did NOT go down well, and I was told, very po-faced, that the pills needed to be checked by the pharmacist. I find that a tad annoying as they insist you wait 72 hours excluding weekends before picking up repeat prescriptions, and I'd given it 4 working days. What on earth are they doing in the meantime? Lloydspharmacy in Brum used to bat them out within an hour, it's not as if it's anything other than generic medication .....

Keep safe out there today! Good luck with the tests, Di, and I hope you're feeling better soon, Saundra.

Ossie, Osc is well out of it - she's in Washington!

We have the same problem with repeat prescriptions. The ridiculous thing is that they've only got to be passed through from the reception to the pharmacy - it's all open plan!

Lovely warm and bright morning here.
The dustmen have been early so no worries about the bins moving
about if the wind strengthens.
Don has appointment at Doctors this morning for test results etc.
The trouble is that you cannot get a parking space as people use it
to leave their cars to go shopping.
They are trying to find a way of stopping this.
M&S later then i am making some Damson Gin (or trying to  ) to use
up all the Damsons that are taking up room in the freezer.

It's become very dark here, quite a strong wind too, so it looks as though the storm is nearly upon us.

A case of 'batten down the hatches.

It's now gone very windy here, and everywhere is sepia toned.

We've escaped the horrors of daytime TV and been out in the garden and cut some bushes back. I've moved the bins too, there's a high wall around the back garden which goes up the side of the house. Very usefully the builders left a kind of alleyway there which is almost the full depth of the house (without an access from the front of the house, just accessed from the back garden) so we keep the bins hidden away up there along with the rotary line when not in use and unused patio pots etc but the wind really seems to blow down there and many times a gust has blown the bins over so I thought it best to move them. We put the patio table and chairs and the barbecue away in the garage at the weekend.

Os, we've had the red sun too - very unusual. The wind is rising now as well.
