Oh Jen, I hope that you can get something sorted soon. My Mom was stuck in the house for a couple of months before having her hip replacement, she found the thought of using a scooter too daunting so soldiered on with a stick until it became too bad for that. She was chuffed to bits the other day because she'd gone out on her own for the first time

Yep, misery sums her up. Despite recent health worries and extensive tests nothing, has been found to be wrong physically, she's fit, still in her 60s and has no money worries. She really should count her blessings. Life really is for living, not sitting around watching daytime TV and waiting for other people to make things happen for you. I've suggested she try volunteering as a way to meet people but she wasn't interested. She reads and knits but book clubs and knit and natter don't interest her either.
She goes back tomorrow.

Roll on tomorrow Jo! My neighbour is of a similar ilk; she's the happiest when she's complaining and making life a misery for someone. I think she's not quite 70 yet and spends most of the time watching depressing news or sending off letters of complaint to all sorts of people and places.

My plans this evening have changed. The London office of the charity is hosting drinks for J so she can't well not go - so we're hoping to meet up tomorrow instead. So home to GBBO for me tonight and dare I say, I'm not complaining

Afternoon :)
I started to post this morning then the battery ran out!
Since the forecast was dry, warm and sunny till rain late afternoon, I got washing done and out.
Without the promised sun, and no wind, it just hung there until it got drenched with the wettest sun I have ever seen, so in it came and into the dryer

Other than that have done a few odd jobs and narrowed down the holiday list ;)

Hope the tour lived up to expectations Osc :)

Jo I can't be doing with these moany negative people, you're a saint to put up with it!

We have that wet sun here at times too Di. We were laughing this morning as I'd refreshed the BBC Weather app just as Carol did the forecast on TV and the app was giving us rain all day tomorrow up until 6pm yet the TV map showed rain in the morning and then drying up until the evening.

She's just back. More woe! Someone has parked in her space. What's actually happened is that a neighbour has parked on the street where she usually parks. So she's parked on the drive and said that John can sort it out when he gets home. There're loads of places she could park as hardly anyone is home at the moment. That then gives John a problem of where to park as more people will be home by then.

She's frequently fallen out with neighbours over parking so I hope she doesn't start here!

Last time she parked on the drive John had to come all the way home from work, 15 minutes after arriving, as she couldn't get the hand brake off and I was at a school meeting.

Saundra, you'd be welcome to stay anytime!

She's now mithering about why the neighbour hasn't moved his car since his wife's gone out in her car which was on the drive.

I feel drained!

In about 18 hours

You're so right though, you have to be positive. She looks for the negative in every situation, and every person for that matter, and it's not a nice way to live your life.

John's just told her to cheer up!
