It really is a very happy thing to do, and we love it.

I just love that idea - what a lovely tradition to have. Make no mistake, I really am very very happy living on my own; but Christmas time is the one time I wish I had my own family to have traditions with (the cats don't count :D) - but that feeling soon goes

I don't think we are buying for each other this year, I'd rather spend money on something we can share together, as I don't really want anything myself. Or for the house.

I have however bought a few bits for him, so he can open something on C morning :)

He asks what would I like and I never know.....I've had some rubbish presents over the years - makes far more sense to put money towards a trip away somewhere 8-)

That is a lovely tradition Aggers

We dont buy presents for each other, we dont even send each other a card, whats the point

We are going on holiday in January so will use that as our Christmas present.

Mrs S took her birthday present in good part this year. Whilst she was staying with our daughter. Once she got home she demanded to know how much it cost and then had a right go at me.

She's lucky she's not getting a pair of old socks for C, I can tell you.

We're supposed to be doing small and funny this year. I've just gone for small only as "funny" is a hit and miss thing. With the boys, funny is a given, with the girls.... Depends what mood they are in.

I'm still looking for something small and amusing. Not a lot of time for looking though I'm working this weekend then shortly after I'll be picking my car up from my parents house and heading home...

I do like the 12 days of C idea though Aggers. Very intimate and romantic. I'll have to think about that one as we're going to Switzerland for C, with our eldest daughter and Grandson, at a chalet in Lauterbrunnen. Hiding them in the car may be a challenge.

We are also spending money on something we can share together...3 days in Nerja.

I have bought Don some bits....his favourite aftershave, a bottle of olive oil home made by the mother of one of my students and a couple of items of clothing.

And I absolutely know he listens to me over the course of the year if I happen to pass a remark on something I see and like. :cute: :cute: :cute:

We don't go mad....but we enjoy buying each other gifts. :D :D
