Morning all,

Ria, sounds like the more expensive one doesn't come from Asia, takes 6 weeks to ship from there. At 0% it is a good deal, especially with likely rate rises in the pipeline making everything more expensive.

When we bought from DFS we did so because they were the only company offering delivery to France as a standard option. The round seats have been a disappointment because of the cushions which will never stay where they are supposed to. The other two are really excellent. We also have a second hand DFS bed settee which is now over 20 years old. It is really a good suite which has done great service.

Kaz, Di, doing that H word stuff on a Sunday.... Well I have that to do too but I also have to do the headlight on the car. I chose to sleep yesterday instead of doing anything so things are now piling up.

I looked at the price of extending this apartment for the next two months, last night. It's already pretty expensive at £1,800 per month so I was expecting it to stay pretty much the same. £2,500 for March and over £3,000 for April? I declined. I'm much further out now, way out past Brent, but I'll live with the tube time to get there and the Extra £5 a day on the tube, to save £1,000 in the first month. I'll see if I can book April when I get there. Booking.com doesn't allow you to book more than 1 month at a go.

The only real pain about this is that I have to move on the second check out of there on the third and I need to be in FIFE for a ball on the third too.

Have a great day all.

Morning all, it's dull, damp and dreary here but we are just about to wrap up and head out for a walk around the block. Otherwise no plans for the day, I'll probably finish off the ironing but that will be the extent of h/work. Dancing with the Stars and Call the Midwife tonight, Sunday is currently my favourite tv night!

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny, E tells me it's a bit warmer too 8-)

Struggling more than usual this morning, just about managed to do the jelly and blancmange, don't think I'll be doing much else for the rest of the day.

Have a good day :D

Hi all - it's now into Day 3 of the Great 60th Birthday Celebrations!! I'm glad these don't come around often, we're not party people and it's been a bit heavy going, yesterday was a particularly LONG day.....survived it though - just!

As I type, Tom is snoozing in bed. I was too until half an hour ago. So you'll have maybe seen on FB that Tony and Kelly (at the farm) organised (with Donna's help apparently) the full shenanigans yesterday! We were picked up at 10.30 and taken to the Stadium of Light, champagne reception, tour of the stadium, three course lunch (all paid for, plus all drinks). Tom was taken on to the pitch just before kick-off for photos (we'd already had some taken together earlier) and then watch the match (poor game and result but hey ho) us girls watched some of it in the warm) and then picked up again shortly before 8pm after more drinks, cakes and baked goods, and dropped off at home just before 9! What a long day, but fun! I had a bit of a panic attack just before we left and again as we were waiting to be picked up to come home, but that's another story.....

Friday we were at Redworth Hall for an overnight stay and three course meal, again paid for! We relaxed around the pool and Jacuzzi for a couple of hours and then again in our room till our meal.

And then today we went to The Mining Exhibition at Bishop Auckland - it's been highly recommended by a few people and it was certainly very emotive! I'm still struggling to get my head around the fact that Tom himself worked in such conditions, did you know pit ponies were only brought out of the pits as recently as 1976?? The little video at the end showing an 8 year old boy alone in the pitch dark working as a trapper boy, opening and closing a door for ventilation, was pitiful and made us both well up :( Very good art works too, really impressive.

So - I think for the time being, we have done with celebrating being 60!

Back to work tomorrow.....
