Kaz, if you look at one side of our garden and the path it looks like there's just been a light dusting but the other lawn has the lot!

Di, I saw that on the news! It's awful!

Crommers, he does...and he's currently snoring his head off on the sofa

Well John decided to attempt to get into work. All reports were saying that the road was closed and we were sat here having a cuppa when a bin lorry pulled up at the house opposite (they run a printing business from there so have a private waste collection for that) and the lorry could only have come along the A34 so he thought he'd chance it. He left here at around 8.35 and texted me at 9.10 to say that he'd arrived at the office!

Are you okay for everything Saundra?

I've just looked at the Bude webcam - not often you see snow on a Cornish beach!

Same here Saundra, we did have some sunshine on Monday but since then it's been snow, snow and more snow with very strong winds and like everyone, it's very fine snow which drifts....the house cannot warm up as we are east facing so the front door and big lounge window cannot cope with the gales and despite having a heavy curtain hanging at the door, it's not helping very much :( I have just read it's meant to stay bad until Monday here  I really hate winter.....I did an online shop last night, first one for two years! But delivery slots were all taken so Tom's going to pick it up tonight as he has gone to work again today, the estate roads are rubbish but the main ones mustn't be too bad here....although there was a 20 car smash on the A19 last night :( I saw that on the news Di about those poor people on the train :(

Worried about Jen getting into work from Gateshead, she'd normally drive but even the A1 isn't brilliant, so she was on about getting a train last night....hope she can, and that they're running! At least she could always stay here tonight if she can't get back...

In other news....today is actually Jan's last day       We have a table booked at the village café so I'll have lunch with her, she doesn't have a clinic today so I might stay with her till she goes home....sad I know, but I will miss her so very much. I've done nothing at all this morning, took the dogs for a 'wee' walk about 10, had a coffee and that's it! Might pop out for a walk before our lunch, just need to be well wrapped up! How hard is it walking in wellies and snow??? Great workout though!

Stay safe all - Saundra that's my fear too, we'd freeze as we have no other means of heating everything is electric here x

Good Morning all,
I think the heavy snow is preferable to what we have now!
We have freezing rain and the roads and pavements are
treacherous.
I carefully made it down the path to my car and post box.
We have had no post all week.
The car windscreen is frozen solid.
We have a Sainsbury delivery due between 4-5pm so we
shall stay indoors again.
I have cancelled Don`s appointment for his diabetic check up
as he is unsteady on his feet at the best of times and i also can`t
get the car out. I don`t think i would have chanced it anyway as our road
is like an ice rink.
My grandaughter Beckie is leaving home in Sittingbourne at 5am every morning to
drive to Chatham to the bank where she works. Please keep her safe.

When Jacob left his job in the UK end of November part of his leaving gift was a return weekend flight to East Midlands which he took this morning.

He landed at 11 and immediately whatsapped me. He said the turbulence was horrendous and lots of people were gasping as the plane bounced around. :o The stewards (even though the captain had put the seat belt signs on) had to walk up and down the aisles and comfort alot of passengers. :?

We have rain now and it's very windy.

Salad cream, brown sauce and pickled onions were purchased from Dealz. :D :D

Good afternoon all.

It's bitterly cold here . Glad to get back home after my morning walk to the local shop.

I've never seen snow like this before. It's just like fine powder, and the strong bitter wind has blown it off the
rooftops and it is piled up now all around, in such an unusual manner. Certainly it's not the weather for a walk.

Hope you are all O.K. and managing to keep warm.

Afternoon all :D

We've had freezing rain here, my neighbour two doors down posted a picture of her conservatory windows, they were covered in ice. The pavements are lethal, but E still has spikes from his postie days and had no trouble popping round for the papers. He said it's treacherous without them.

Heard about the people on the train Di, it must have been horrid. Wouldn't want to be travelling far, heard on our news the Thanet Way's closed, lots of accidents :( Hope no one on here has to go far today.

Feeling a bit better today, the queasiness seems to have cleared, still in pain, but not nearly as bad as it was. Think it's doubtful I'll get into hospital next week if this weather keeps up. One of the coffee ladies was there yesterday visiting someone near orthopaedics and she said they were lined up in the corridor waiting for plaster etc. Must admit I'd rather be feeling back to normal anyway so resigned to waiting a bit longer.

Have a safe and warm day xx
