Happy birthday to Eldest, Di! B turns 23 in August and was also 7 when Mick came into our lives

Ria we are tempted! I think much also depends on how much value it might add. I don't think we'll stay in this house once Mick retires, in 3 or 4 years, so.......

Morning all, sun and cloud here and windy too - it rained last night, didn't know what it was

Lots to do today, working my way through the pre-holiday list and telling myself firmly that yes, all those clothes will fit in the cases! First of all I need to wrap and post of a 70th birthday present, the birthday is a week away but of course we won't be here (did I mention we are going on a cruise

). The weather in Norway has heard we are coming, and rain is forecast all next week :roll:

Di, that sounds like here when there's a Chinese. Tom is the worst of them though. I'm still quietly seething about the time we ordered Chinese, and ordered loads, and he had three massive heaped platefuls. The other three of us had a plate each and when we went to dish ourselves some more the containers were empty.
Lovely as he is, when it comes to food he doesn't stop and think that he needs to let other people have a share.

And as for electricity! He regularly leaves lights on or his TV or whatever but his latest is to sit in his room with the blinds closed and the light on. During the day! It's more effort y'see to walk across the room and open the blinds than it is to flick on the light switch

Crommers, I haven't decided who to support yet :lol:

Morning all

Dull, overcast and windy here, completely different to yesterday :roll:

We love our extension Kaz, having floor to ceiling glass all along the back wall is wonderful. As Ria says in the summer you can bring the outside in, and in the winter it's lovely to look out, it changes all the time. It's not cheap though so sensible to check building costs against house prices in your area, especially if you are thinking of moving in a few years time. All I can say is it's certainly added value to our bungalow, recent sale prices in our cul de sac have shot up quite considerably, quite a lot more than we spent on renovations.

We had another lovely 'normal' day yesterday, the film was great and dinner was a nice treat. No plans for today, will be doing lots of exercises and getting out for a walk later weather permitting.

Morning all after a grey very windy start we have blue sky and still gales but with sunshine it was forecast rain

Osc we had a very wet holiday in Norway but it's very spectacular enjoy

We loved our kitchen extension at our old house. You definitely have to be careful with quotes though. We had four quotes ranging from £12,000 to £32,000 :shock:

The one we chose quoted £15,500 and, unlike the rest, provided us with a list of previous jobs which he'd done for us to visit. He really did a superb job. It definitely added value as we had the tiniest kitchen previously. We had the sink unit, a single base unit and a double base unit and two single wall units and just space for the oven and washing machine, the fridge (under counter one) was in a lean to by the back door with the microwave.
