I've had that call several times Osc. "I'm from Microsoft, there is a problem, are you near your computer now sir?" sort of thing.

The other IT scam call I keep getting is an automated one that starts off "Hello, this is internet provider. There is a problem with your broadband and it is going to be cut off in the next 24 hours.." at which point the phone usually goes down.

Yet another one is someone who keeps ringing up saying they are the people with who our washer is insured and do we want to renew with them? We don't have the washer insured with anybody; it's an obvious scam to get your card details but I bet it catches some trusting people out.

We probably get as many scam calls as we do genuine ones.
