You're not kidding! :D I decided early afternoon yesterday to go up one of the local garden centres to get some growbags as I've somehow managed to germinate 8 cherry tomato plants. I chose the smaller, independent one, run by a local charity, rather than the mega one at the other side of town which I assumed would be heaving. Goodness knows what Blue Diamond was like, because the one I visited had a long queue outside and it took me 15 minutes standing in the baking sun before I got in!

All very regimented - hand sanitiser stations everywhere, and if you passed one without using it, klaxons went off and you were barked at. The alleyways round the plant stalls all had directional arrows designed to take you back to the place where you first started, and you had to crack an extremely complex maze to get to the greenhouse. I jest, of course - but not by a lot.

I managed to get 4 growbags and also have a look at the veggie plants, picking up a jalapino pepper and a red hot chilli of the "Frank" variety  . Unfortunately - and this is a the problem with this particular garden centre which has always made me a bit wary of buying stuff there - I idly noticed, when queuing for the checkout, that the latter was infested underneath the leaves with white fly, so I ditched it. Their bedding plants are excellent, but the vegetables (of which they don't carry much stock) can sometimes be a shade iffy .....

Yes, chatting with folk in the queue yesterday, it seems that folk locally have had a lot of problems getting things going this year.

Tea and toast sounds good, Saundra …

Have a good day, all!

Soupmaking today, and the cauldron is brewing as we speak. I've got to order repeat prescriptions, so that's this afternoon's task.

Ria, that all sounds delicious, I love seeded bread :D That's a nice idea to take your seedlings, I'm sure someone will love to have them! I have rather a lot of small but fast-growing geraniums to thin out - luckily D said she's got a lot of spare pots I can have 8-)

Jo, that's what it will be, with Tom. It's a lovely thing you're doing, looking after Nan's grave, while your mum can't xxx (((x)))

Morning all :D

Another lovely sunny day 8-)

E's got a phone appointment with Tina his Mcmillan nurse this afternoon. It's to replace his yearly jaunt to Swindon for a routine check up. It was due end of January, but kept getting postponed. We're not likely to make that journey again so I expect this will be his last one, he's been clear for 7 years this summer :D

My ankle is a little better today, but nothing strenuous is planned, the weather's so lovely expect we'll sit out in the garden again this afternoon.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Afternoon all, it’s mostly dull here but rather warm. Edward went off about 10am to play golf. I did my Silver Sneakers workout, a new one sent by the gym, which I really enjoyed. After that I did some ironing, and also cleaned and put away my winter shoes, taking out my summer ones (watch temperatures plummet   ). My sister’s birthday present arrived (the birthday was yesterday  ) plus a nice pair of earrings for me, might pop them over on the Boutique board later. No plan for the afternoon except I need to go for a walk.

Cloudy and breezy here again today!! When's it our turn for warmth and sunshine???? *stamps foot!

Tom's been to work all day (yay!) but I haven't done a lot. I swapped my winter clothes to summer ones (Osc, we must have had the same idea!) and put the jumpers and woollies into two of those bags that you hoover the air out of. They're now up in the loft rather than in storage boxes under the bed. I am trying to not have boxes under there, but still two remain

I had to nip to Asda for my click and collect between 1 and 2pm, but I couldn't get out of my cul de sac on account of the bloody workmen!!! Some may have seen the video I took yesterday on FB of them making a right racket just outside my house. It's soooo annoying! Anyway they moved the big vehicle so I COULD get out, picked up my shopping, popped round to Home Bargains as I wanted a few bits in there...when I came out, I couldn't find my car key fob to remotely unlock the door (was in my bag, had somehow come off the keyring) so used the car key in the door, which set the immobiliser alarm off! So I had to quickly start the engine, which stopped it, but in the panic I dropped my phone on the ground (yikes! No damage though luckily) along with the little hand gel container which was hooked on to my bag strap, and it broke, so that when I went to wash my hands, the gel went all over the car interior!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!

Since getting home I have sat quietly having a coffee. I think I'm safe to move again now...

LOL Ossie, it all sounds very hygienic - can only be a good thing - some places here are really not sticking to the 2m thing and I started to wish I'd worn a mask in HB :(
