Morning all :D

Another sunny day 8-)

Feel for you Ria, we lived through our bungalow renovations which took months, I shudder just thinking about it. It will definitely be worth it when it's finished.

Jo good luck with your refund from Virgin, 120 days sounds very unreasonable. We weren't too impressed with BA either, from the date of our cancelled flight we waited about 10 weeks for ours and thought that was a bit long. On the other hand Airbnb, which we thought might be a problem, processed our refund within 48hrs so hats off to them.

We were expecting a storm last night, it got very hot and sticky, but nothing. Think there's a chance of rain later. Not doing much today, will probably sit outside and make the most of the sunshine, our life sounds as exciting as yours Osc

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Al, Joe had two holidays booked with Jet2 and they were brilliant. They were going to Rome in June and that was cancelled at the start of March, they rearranged that within a couple of days and booked to go to Lanzarote instead (again in early June) as at that time things hadn’t really kicked off. That was cancelled in April and the money was back in his account a week later.

As for Virgin, we were due to go in May and Joe (whose holiday was after we’d returned) had already got his refund from Jet2 before Virgin had even cancelled our holiday, they waited until two weeks before to cancel it. Our friends were going to New York with them in March and were among the first of the cancellations and still haven’t had a refund, despite them saying that they’re working through refunds in departure date order.
We could’ve changed the booking to next year but the like for like holiday would cost almost double  plus neither of us fancy flying long haul with the new in flight restrictions in place.

Jen, Joe and Amanda had booked an Air B&B for when they were at Leeds Festival but they’ve been able to transfer it to next year seeing as they opted to keep the festival tickets rather than having a refund. That was all dealt with very quickly too.

Afternoon all.
Our daughter has just gone. She is wfh and their electric has been cut today because they have an electrician in wiring up the new room. She needs wifi to work so she's been down here.
A grey day and none too warm here. MrsC is off looking after her dad and doing the shopping for her other relatives.
I fancy a quick trip out to Tescos - highlight of the day!
Have a good day all.

Jo we didn't cancel in the end, we have the hotel booked for the same time next year (luckily the hotel are honouring 2020 prices) but are still waiting for flights, as they've as yet only been released up to the 4th of May. Fingers crossed.

Sainsbury's on a Thursday is the highlight of my week Crommers  :cute:

Just seen your ticker Ally :Hi: :Hi:

Was chatting to an acquaintance in Pingo earlier. She and her husband rent out half of their villa - they cancelled all of June and offered refunds and are now only accepting Portuguese visitors. And they're booked solid until the end of September

Still quite blowy, which is making it feel cooler than it is.

We've had a tiny glimmer of sunshine but only for an hour or so this afternoon, no real rain yesterday but we had enough this past few days for a month!

I went shopping today! I went to The Range and got a new bedding set (Been getting a king size duvet so needed the larger set) and some bits from Home Bargains, neither shop had queues!! Called home for a spot of lunch and a wee (this is a problem when shopping - no loos open!) and then headed off to fill the car up and called into a garden centre for a tub for my Alstromeria. So TWO shopping trips! :D

I've messaged Jen to see if she fancies a walk anytime, I miss her loads but she's really not very communicative so I'm hoping she'll agree to a walk. We live about 25 minutes apart but we could always meet up somewhere in the middle...it's not as if she can come indoors or I could go inside at hers. We just need it to stay dry...

Tom's had a round of golf with John this morning, he's had 3 days holidays owed so has been off.

Chuffed you have flights booked to see your Dad Ally! :D :D
