So it is rather ingrained in the psyche of employees to "struggle in", even though they are unwell. Might that explain what the person at B's work was thinking?

Doubtful Ossie, they are pretty good about any sort of sick leave there - on the very few occasions that B has had to take sick leave it's been fine.

Thing as well is, if she showed up at work yesterday feeling ill, and - God forbid - it does come back positive; then chances are she's potentially been infectious for a good few days already and not known it....

it really is such a minefield because I don't think anyone knows just how this virus is transmitted, how it hangs on to surfaces etc... Take the post about the 61 people at sea, all tested negative before they left, quarantined but still got it. And yesterday I was talking to my friend and she mentioned; you remember the cruise ship in the US - and to add I haven't double checked this so am taking her word for it - apparently some people went on board a good 14 days or more AFTER everyone had disembarked; and apparently the Covid virus was still found to be very active on a number of surfaces; so it hadn't died. I was always under the impression that it could last no more than a week on some surfaces and much less than that on others.

But regardless - wake up not feeling well and still go to work? That's just silly.

Keep us updated Kaz, and sending tons of vibes for a negative result... VV vibes are usually pretty darn good ;-) x

What a stupid, irresponsible and downright thoughtless thing to do :x I hope B’s stayed clear of it, Kaz x

John said last week that someone at his company had symptoms and had to be tested, fortunately not someone who comes into the office but a site manager and no at one of the sites John has visited recently. His test came back negative thankfully although the site he’s been managing is at the Gestamp factory between Cannock and Wolverhampton and apparently they’ve had a few people test positive over the last couple of weeks.

You can't educate bacon, as they say. If someone is totally bereft of any common sense there's no helping them.

Phew! Her test came back negative :Hi: Huge relief here, of course, but I still can't get my head around such irresponsible behaviour!

Thanks very much for the support everyone :) Jo, that's good about that site manager, but not about the other positives :( xxx
