Good morning Christmas Day Sunday

Morning all and Happy Christmas! It’s a pleasant morning here and we’re just back from a walk. We got up about 9am and had a nice brekkie of American style crispy bacon with scrambled eggs, and bagels. Having a cuppa and some cake now while Edward is infusing the milk for the bread sauce to bring to Miss Osc’s later. We are expected there around 3pm for dinner around 4pm. Have a lovely day everyone, no matter what you are doing.

Belated Merry Christmas to all!

A very quiet day her, tempered by some "difficult" medical news which has come, like everything, in threes.

SiL has the flu very badly, but is now thankfully recovering - luckily we haven't been in contact with her recently. A near neighbour was hospitalised a few days ago (just before the ambulance strike) and seems to have been "kept in". And my S may have macular degeneration (it's hereditary on the female side) but trying to get info out of her is like getting blood out of a stone, so I don't know for sure what's going on. We'll just have to see how things develop.

Oh dear Ossie, not good news.

We had a lovely afternoon, with bbq'ed lamb cutlets and turkey breasts, with roast taters, lots of veg, potato salad, cauli cheese and two enormous Portuguese desserts Grumpy had some of each and Riccardo, Jan's youngest ate the most Hollow legs, that lad.

We had some rain, so sat inside and I forget that they have central heating so had to strip orf Good job I had a t-shirt on

Went through some lovely wine - Joquinha does like to say how much bottle costs and how old it is. We had one that was 22 years old Not sure to begin with, but okay, after a glass or two

I've got some Baileys for later - or sooner

Red wine, young or old, is only fit for throwing on frozen paths or putting in your windscreen wiper bottle as a de-icer. Do NOT try to drink it. It also makes a good paint stripper and rust remover as well.

Bailey's is acceptable.

Voddy with bubblegum pop is the acest. You get "there" and smell nice as well.
