We’re home, got home just before 3pm. We had what was a late night for us (in bed by 1.30am) so we’re pretty tired - we had left two ready meals in the fridge and put them on as soon as we came in to have an early dinner. Since then, we’ve watched last night’s Strictly and there has been a decent snooze in the chair When we were going to bed last night, there was a really heavy frost with freezing fog, but I looked out the window this morning around 6am and the frost had disappeared leaving behind fog and awful damp dreary bitterly cold weather.
We had a great time, arrived at the hotel around 2pm yesterday and immediately went to have some lunch, joining two women who go to our usual Friday social - one we have known for quite a few years, the other for not very long so we had a nice time, sitting and chatting until almost 4pm. Then we went to have a rest and get ready for the evening function. We were sitting at a table with good friends and were delighted when two of our friends were presented with their professional certifications, allowing them to teach sequence dancing. There was a tasty Christmas dinner, followed by lots of dancing, we won a spot prize and I won a raffle prize, so that was fun! We bowed out at 12.30am but others on our table were the last to leave the ballroom after 1am.
This morning after breakfast (coincidentally we sat with the same two women) there was another session of dancing, including being taught two new dances - one quite easily learned, the other not so much. We left about 1.15 and had a smooth drive home. It’s really damp and cold, finding it hard to warm up, it probably doesn’t help that we are tired. We do enjoy this particular dance break, the organiser puts in a huge amount of work to make it enjoyable for everyone, we find it a great start to the Christmas season.
How exciting, Kaz - you’ll have lots of fun planning that!
