Incubation period for Covid is 1-14 days, so you dodged a bullet there Jan! :?

Sighing a huge sense of relief - we knew we should be okay, as we had our temps checked last week when we went for a flu job - but still .....

Looking at this article it seems I probably should have isolated the other week, when I got the "ghost" notifications from the app!

I'm not sure Kaz I think it was a glitch as several on here all got the same message the same time. Surely that cant mean all of us should have isolated? Bit of a coincidence

According to that article they were miscalculating the length of time needed for exposure, so some ghost messages should have been ones to isolate. It's a bit "Russian Roulette" :?

Crumbs Jan, that was close.... just take it easy for a few more days and you definitely will be fine ;-) If anything it's more than 2 weeks that you saw your friends so you'd have had symptoms by now.

Kaz, re the ghost message - a friend of mine got a proper message and it was nothing like the one quite a few of us go. So I think we were fine. My friend has been categorically told that she has been in close contact with someone that has tested positive and to please self isolate for 11 days. I found it odd that she had to isolate for 11 days whereas most recommendations say 14. And then one thing that totally annoyed me is that a number of people told her to just delete the app and ignore the message and carry on as normal.... just why????? seriously unless we all start pulling out weight and doing our bit when we need to we'll never get the upper hand of this virus . Needless to say; friend ignored them and is staying home!

Wow Ria, no wonder we're in such a mess if many people are behaving like that! Glad your friend had more sense :) 8-)

I think that the app takes into account the time from the 'ping' to the positive test coming back. So, for instance, if the ping was 14 days ago and the result took three days those days are taken off because they are assumed to have already been completed - or something like that.

I don't have the app, but anyone who does have it must surely follow the rules otherwise what's the point? Glad to hear you friend was sensible Ria.
