I buy the Soreen knock-off, "So Malty", at Aldi for 99p a block.

It's my regular breakfast!

Joe texted me earlier, he’s in a small town in Germany for work and he’s on his own.
He didn’t do German at school and texted me to say he was in a restaurant and no one spoke English so he wasn’t sure what he’d ordered :o

The next text said “think I might have bought the actual table”

Told him I couldn’t help him with food, all I can remember is how to say I’ve got a headache and to ask for painkillers

Jo, "Jaegerschnitzel mit pommes frites, bitte" is all he needs to be well fed... Oh, "und ein kalt pilsner, auch. Danke".

He'll survive.

Or he could try for a currywurst and a Dortmunder Union (strong beer) but he might need your headache and painkiller help with that choice. ;)

If he's really adventurous he could get Schweinebraten - pork in a thick gravy with veg, or for a snack in the street some Kartoffelpuffer - potato and egg pancakes with a topping of choice. Everywhere has them.

Forget MacD and KFC, go to a schnellimbiss.

Or he could just put a translation app on his phone  :?:  Sorry Frank, couldn’t resist :P

Jo, I hope he has a brilliant time, what part of Germany is he in? My cousin Zoe is in Sulingen, in the North.

Frank I told him to just look for bier, schnitzel or burger and he’d be grand :P
He ended up with a burger and chips

Kaz, neither of us thought of that, probably because it’s not something we’ve ever needed
He’s in a town called Darmstadt, just south of Frankfurt.
Apparently the company have a training academy there but he’s the only one in it this week, he said that thankfully everyone he’s met speaks good English.
