Consider myself well and truly slapped. I heard it verbally and simply copy pasted without reading the content fully or researching it. The verbal repetition only covered some bits some of which makes sense.

My mitigation is that I'm struggling, still, to get my son out of the boonies in Argentina whilst having to deal with a wife who is constantly bitching that I'm not doing enough in the house. She thinks it is normal for me to be underneath a bridge unit, fitting a new door she has made, whilst trying to take a call to, simultaneously, pay my sons hostel bill, pay someone who can give
him cash to buy food and book a hotel in a city 5.5 hours away which has almost all of the hotels closed, Expedia selling rooms in closed hotels and the other hotels refusing to take foreigners.

As far as I'm aware he slept in the car an American was driving back to the city. They had to navigate 10 police checkpoints to get there and the Army one was the worst. If my son had not been living and working in Argentinian Spanish for 15 years, I'm sure they would have been turned back even though the Embassy made sure they had the correct papers to travel.

Only another 12 hours by car, if he can find a car to take him.

So apologies for spreading social media crap but there are some real things you should take away from it. Which, as you said WM is what was used to spread it.

Stressed is my normal. This is just another version of it.

I'm looking at private flights. It is looking at something between £6,000 and £11,000 to get him to BA and into a hotel. I'll have to approach the family for money, I don't have enough to do that and survive till I start work again. I shall see what the quotes come back as.

Right now he's standing in an airport which is supposed to have a flight to BA, but it doesn't. He's being hassled by police and some judge has said he has to be in a house. His response. "I can't get in to a hotel, they won't take me, so how do I get into a house, send me to BA and I'll be in a hotel".

We've also asked if the Embassy can send a car but that is problematic too, it's a 12.5 hour drive each way. I'm not expecting that they can do it, but if they can it will have Diplomatic cover and be able to transit the checkpoints.

The embassy is now about to speak to the police who keep hassling him. His response, now, is talk to the embassy.

Guernsey, per head of population, has become quite a virus infection hotspot.

This what comes of not taking it seriously …

Our President has just said that Portugal is to continue the lockdown for at least another 15 days.

Portugal is shut for Easter.

From 9 April until Easter Monday at midnight, we are not allowed out of our area - so no travelling down to the Algarve or Lisbonites going down there either.

Also the airports will be shut.

Jan, I'd plan for those restrictions to get worse.

Portugal will go over 10,000 cases tomorrow and there or thereabouts for 300 dead. It will also pass South Korea in both cases and deaths (it's already past it on deaths).

1,000 per day new cases tends to be the point where governments start getting twitchy and all knee jerkish. The other figure which tends to send them running like scared rabbits is 100 dead per day. Both of which are in Portugal's future.

I don't expect they will relax restrictions again with the numbers going up and up.
