So I just got over my 45 minute phone rant to Virgin and the day got a little better when the returns package from Vax arrived (it was only requested yesterday so I wasn't expecting it to arrive quite so quickly, especially at this time of year) and the good news is that instead of waiting in all day for it to be collected, we can drop it off at a convenience store just down by the gym and it'll be collected on Monday.

Then Joe came home from school.
He wants to go to the cinema tonight, the film starts at 7.30pm. Now normally that would be fine but John's arranged to go out for a meal tonight with his bike friends. He's going out too early to drop Joe off in town as he's got to pick some other people up on the way to the restaurant, and he certainly won't be back in time to pick Joe up afterwards. Joe suggested the bus but they're only hourly after 7pm and really, the town centre is rough enough on a normal Friday night...but the Friday before Christmas??? I'm not comfortable with him walking through there and he'd have to do that as the cinema is on the opposite side of town.
Oh, and he's got no money to go to the cinema either so he said he'd need £10. Well I've got no money either. I've not been to the cashpoint this week and Tom had the last of the money I had in my purse for his train ticket and lunch in Birmingham. I'm going into town tomorrow so the plan was to get some cash then.
So now he's sulking.
Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!

The walking through town on the Friday before Christmas would be a far bigger problem for me than the money

The sun was out, it was gorgeous, so we sat outside and now feel cold - I'm wearing a t-shirt, jumper, jeans and thick cardi :o socks and slippers

After 30C plus, it feels cold - fire lit, stew bibbling :D :D :D or it may even be bubbling

There never is any money in his piggy bank Saundra :o

Shell, it's a couple of miles away but it wouldn't have bothered me to walk and meet him with Billy after he'd seen the film IF I could avoid the town centre and the drunks but the cinema is situated in the town centre but on the very far side

Not long after I posted Joe came running in saying that his friend's Mom would drop them off and pick them up...and Tom managed to 'find' £5 for his ticket out of the £15 I'd given him this morning  He even offered to run down to Tesco which is about a mile and a half away with my cashpoint card to withdraw some money if that wasn't enough. Methinks he wanted his brother out of the way for the night
