The reviews aren't brilliant but the cinema was packed and they've been showing it for weeks now so it's certainly popular.

We very much enjoyed the film "Christmas With The Kranks" (Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dan Ackroyd) which was an adaptation of John Grisham's book "Skipping Christmas".

OK, it's American, it was panned by the critics, but it's a very warm-hearted comedy with a message.

We got that on DVD some years ago and I remember really enjoying it.
It used to be a bit of a tradition that we'd get a new Christmas DVD to watch before the big day along with a tin of chocolates.

One I watched last year, and I think it was on Prime, was Love The Coopers with Steve Martin, John Goodman and Dianne Keaton and that was pretty good.

Some of them are 'meh' but others are quite good.

This 'Last Christmas' thing looks interesting. I watched the trailers and it is shockingly bad with the acting of St Gilbert and St Winifred's Nursery Nativity play standard.

It could become a cult classic.
