Oh blimey! Good to hear about that driver though There was a young man, a few rows behind me, on my train home whose phone was 'leaking' sound effects from some game or other - the lady sitting opposite asked him to turn it down.

"It's not loud!"

" Well I could hear it, so can others! "

He turned it down

When we were doing the coach change at Woodhall Services I congratulated the driver for intervening and he made a good point: It is not "always" the volume, it is when you can "hear" but not hear what is going on that frustrates and distracts. High pitched sounds are the worst because all you get are ticks, hisses and whistles, and bips... they go on and on and on.

I travelled First Class.

Never had my ticket checked. There ae no barriers at Wigan. I was having a snack when the ticket inspector came round and he didn't ask me to show
my ticket. Had wheelchair assistance at Brum to get me to the taxi.

On the way back asked to go through the barrier to the toilet. Again did not have to show my ticket. Same on the way back. I was having a
toasted sandwich when the ticket inspector came past. I did see him checking some tickets in the First class section.
