John and Joe both thought I was actually talking to someone when in fact I was going through the 1001 automated questions that you answer yes or no to before being told that I was 85724th in the queue and an operator would be with me in June 2019.
The operator I finally spoke to did get a "you must be joking!" though, when he told me I'd have to pay £10 for a viewing card to replace our faulty one.
Suffice to say, we're getting it for free.
I think they probably just try that on as there'll be some people who'll accept the charge without questioning it.
