I'm in the garden - the lounge and kitchen windows are open and I hear:

YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Indicating Birmingham City have scored.

One minute later - NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Indicating QPR have equalized!

Nooo, it's an HTC and I was listening to the music on the SD card and playing games all through the trip - train and plane. It switched itself off when the battery got low and when I turned it on there was a battery outline with big red X over it, then it turned itself off again. I had to charge it once home, hence no messages to anyone.

Crazy weather.

Our neighbours have just returned from visiting their daughter and her Portuguese husband in Beja. Said it was cold. Nice(ish) in the day but really cold at night.

Beja is just up the road from us - gets hotter during the day and colder at night.

The older Portuguese houses were built for the heat, not the cold

Change of plan with dinner, instead of a roast I made stovies in my Instant Pot. I saw the recipe last week on Facebook. It was delicious, and took a grand total of around 20 minutes from preparing the veg to dishing it up.

There's a really cold wind here Saundra. I started mowing the lawns in jeans and a sweatshirt, halfway through the back ones I came in and put on a long sleeved t shirt which I'd just ironed and was in the kitchen waiting to be taken upstairs, then I came back in for my gloves before going out onto the close to do the side lawn.
