Facebook can be good

In 1994 we went on a family holiday to Kenya, we had hoped to go to the 1994 World Cup in the USA, but in the end could not get match tickets. As a result, all three of us had saved a lot of money so we decided to have a very special holiday, hence Kenya. While there we went on a three day safari and met a lovely couple from Northampton who were on their honeymoon. We kept in contact for a while but it gradually fizzled out as these things do.

The other day I found their then address in an old address book, so went looking on FB, as you do ;) Found J easily, they have an unusual surname, and sent her a message. I was delighted to hear back and to find that they still remembered us and still have a photo of us all together. Lovely to see that they are still married, have two beautiful daughters and are doing well in life. Thank you FB!

That's lovely Osc. It does have some good uses doesn't it. I'm in touch with some cousins who moved to Scotland back in the 70s, John's in touch with a lot of his cousins over in North America too (actually, so am I).
I had a lovely Facebook reunion with a girl I was at school with. She'd met her boyfriend when she was 14 and at 16 she was pregnant and left school. He lived in Coventry so she moved to live with him and his family. I'd often wondered how life had turned out for her and then she turned up on Facebook. Life's treated her very nicely. She's now very happily married to the boyfriend, they have two daughters and a son. Both daughters are married and the one has two gorgeous little girls of her own. And my old friend looks no different - apart from the lack of 80s permed hair - than when we were at school.
