Good morning! Lights on here at the moment, dark mornings are coming.

Off to walk Billy in a minute. I haven't really got many plans today. Tom's home late afternoon as he's working 5-Midnight, and Joe's off to the cinema with some friends tonight.

Have a lovely day with your parents Ally :D

Have a good day everyone :D

Morning Ally, Jo and everyone

Hazy over the mountains, but we're supposed to have mid 30's this week-end :Hi: :Hi:

We have a wood delivery sometime today - much cheaper than the Algarve too  - and depending on when it arrives, we may pop into Ourique, to stock up on beer and wine. Our big supermarket is closing for a month, for a refurb and the two little one's will be rammed. And they don't have cheap beer either ;)

I have a little bit of painting to finish and I may venture in the pool later, once it's warmed up a bit 8-)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Ally I hope your parents have another lovely day :D :D

Ton, you too, have a great one :) Good idea to stock up ;) xxx

Jo, the mornings are really changing, aren't they? Have a good one xxx

Well the sun is out here, despite the slight chill in the air :) I have plenty to do today, as our weekend plans have changed slightly. Mick's brothers and their wives are coming up, as I think I mentioned, to spend the weekend with D and with us, celebrating her 80th belatedly. D now has a shocking cold, we are hoping she will still be ok for an afternoon out at Westonbirt and the meal out tomorrow, but the big Sunday lunch planned at her place has now been switched to mine as she really shouldn't be overdoing it. I insisted   So I have shopping and planning to do for Sunday :) Harry will be here too, Mick is picking him up this evening, I haven't seen him for weeks as he was so busy over the summer, so I can't wait! :D :D :D :D

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning all,

Hope everyone has a great day. Kaz, you seem to have set yourself up with a HUGE amount of work this weekend, I hope you find time to enjoy it. Ally, nice to have the parents over for a bit of warmth. Mine travel a lot so I see them most when they are travelling through with their camper. Quite good given that my father is now 80 and still driving the camper all over Europe even after two heart attacks and 3 stents.

Same old round for me, job search, work in the house, interspersed with more job searching. I'm hoping to get my car back from the garage but I'm not sure. They've fixed the aircon and the power steering belt screech (worn out tensioner, Expensive as things go). But I have a fuel problem, it was a nightmare to drive back as it kept throwing a fuel problem and limiting the revs, you'd be in the middle of overtaking a truck on the AutoRoute and suddenly the car wouldn't drive up a hill at 70mph, let alone the 80 I'd been doing.

They thought they'd fixed the problem when they replaced a diaphragm in the fuel system, but it didn't feel right. I know how to reproduce the problem, quick drive to the next village, turn round, up the first hill in low gears, 4,500 rpm, check the mirrors, slow down to 30mph, put the car in 5th, foot flat on the floor and try the second hill. Happens every time the engine warning light comes on and the car won't do more than 2,500 rpm without "coaxing".

It went straight back to the garage and they're looking at it again. It's already cost €570 to fix what they have, my main worry is that it's a problem with the fuel pump in the tank; which would add another €500 at least on it to get it fixed.

Morning everyone

Ally, have fun with the parents today and enjoy the tapas catch-up this evening
Kaz, sorry to hear D isn't feeling well and fingers crossed she is OK for tomorrow. And good idea re the lunch at yours - and glad D realised she's not up to it; that's often half the battle.
Ton, definitely stock up on the necessities if your bigger store is closing for a month - that's a very long time. Just hope the smaller stores don't hoick their prices up just because they can? Re the pool - at some point, when money allows - could you install solar heating for the pool? You've got plenty of sun
Jo, enjoy your day whatever you end up doing. Enjoy the walk - not sure about where you are, but it's lovely and sunny here; a perfect autumn day.
Suff, good luck from me as well with the job hunting - hope something perfect comes your way soon. And hope you get the car sorted and it doesn't end up costing an arm and a leg :(
Saundra, when you're finished at yours, can you come over to mine - my house is in dire need of a good clean. I'll make you lots of cuppa's

As said by Kaz and Jo - autumn definitely is here. Really nippy this morning but what a beautiful sunny day. I'd love to be home today, it's perfect for pootling about outside and even more perfect for a lovely pub lunch. But hey, here I am at my desk in the office - sigh....

Usual work day for me, then nail appointment this evening, no nothing exciting to report

Have a lovely day everyone xx
