ebay return

Postby Gal » 30 Sep 2016, 15:38

I sent for Tom some 'dirt boots' for when he is working at the farm, they claim to be waterproof and suitable for using in the snow.

He wore them once, and they were NOT waterproof!

I've sent for a returns notice, and the company have offered me a £5 refund. The reason is becasue they have been worn and they are meant to be 'work' boots. Er yes that's what he's wearing them for, to work in, and how is he supposed to know if they are waterproof or not if he doesn't try them???

I've turned down the refund offer (total spend plus postage was £20, they are really like short wellies but they are meant to have a fitted 'shoe' part which wellies lack) because basically that's the postage they are refunding but there is nowhere to explain why I have turned it down.

Sigh.

Trading Standards?

And possible a stinking review on the vendor's eBay listing.

Can you open a case with Ebay Gal, they're obviously not fit for the purpose and aren't as described if they don't have the fitted part which you were led to believe they had.

Insist on a total refund, otherwise you will leave negative feedback! If they were advertised as waterproof, but weren't, then they aren't fit for purpose

If that doesn't get your money back, and you paid with PayPal, you have recourse through them. I got my money back from them once when I was sold some do dgy riding boots, for Becky, years ago. The company totally ignored my emails, so I went to PayPal. Then I left the negative feedback ;)
