The cat is back

Gez let here out of the caravan on Sunday morning, she stayed there until it stopped raining and found her way back here this afternoon :? :? :?

We knew she hadn't been back to Gez, so decided that we'd have to keep her, if she came back - although she's not going to be a house cat.

Not what either of us really wanted - but ........

Another friend will do the necessary, to stop kittens and we'll just have to take it from here.

Any idea of a name?

Don't call it Molly - we have a Molly on here.

Oh poor girl. Definitely please do get her spayed asap and vaccinated. Can Grumpy make her a comfy covered wooden box so she's got somewhere nice and warm to sleep if she's not allowed inside given allergies? Not sure how cold your winters get, but if you make the entrance to the box a bit higher then put a layer of hay into the base of box and a blanket or something on top of that; hopefully she'll take it. Hay or straw are fanatastic insulation for most animals. Just make sure whatever bedding you do you does stay dry.

As for a name what about Bella, Cleo, Sally, Ellie.. there are lots of pretty names for a pretty cat. I've always preferred human names for my pets ;)

Kaz, your comment re Molly made me giggle. I (unsurprisingly  ) am a member of a cat forum and someone on that form recently adopted a cat called Ria. And such a co-incidence that feline Ria happens to be my favourite breed of cat - Norwegian Forest.

Ria, plans are afoot already for the spaying - I spoke to Gez earlier, who is going to speak to Louise, who does a lot of re-homing animals locally. Mainly dogs, but all sorts of other animals, so she gets mates rates at the vets ;)

A box has already been made but she prefers to sleep under the car, at the moment - she managed to live outside for just about (we think, 7-8 months, so she's used to sleeping outside. But we've put the box in the car-port, so she'll be sheltered - in saying that, it was 25C at 7.30, so she won't be cold. And yes, there is a nice, thick cushion for her to sleep on 8-)

Still not named - Smudge was mentioned

Ton, my friend has a cat that her neighbour left behind when she moved into an old peoples home. Julie has been feeding Sooty, but she really wanted him to have a home for winter, she does not want a cat indoors. Someone came forward and offered him a home. Admittedly it wasn't a million miles away, but they didn't keep him in and bingo back he came. Julie has agreed that her son, who lives with her can build him a shelter and he can stay this time.

The woman that rehomed him hasn't even been in touch to see if he has turned up.
