Emulating Crommers .....

To Shaftesbury this morning, and told quite firmly by Mrs O to get lost while she carried out a Grand Tour of the Clothing Shops ..... :D

So I thought I'd while away the time by following Mr & Mrs Cromwell's feat of descending (and reclimbing!) the notorious Gold Hill.

By 'eck, that's one steep pathway!! The worst of it is, when you climb back up it, the really steep part, not far off vertical, is right at the top. Had to go and sit down under the Town Christmas Tree for 15 minutes to recover ...... and slept all afternoon!!

Yes indeed it is, WM. I reckon the drop is something like 150-200 feet in short order. If I'd known I was going to attempt it, I'd have taken a small wholemeal Hovis loaf with me ....

The is a pub at the bottom, but it wasn't open ....

Well done Os! I was a lot younger when I went up and down that hill. I think now it would be walk to the bottom, wait until the pub opens then later on get a taxi to the top! :Hi:
