The Fish Clock ...

There was a feature on our local news about a clock in the mall of a shopping centre in Cheltenham which is about to be renovated. It was called the Fish Clock and there were all sorts of special features, a fish on a pendulum blowing soap bubbles, golden eggs going up and down, mice appearing out of holes and being chased by a snake - absolutely brilliant! :D It was designed by Kit Williams, the guy who wrote "Masquerade" and buried the Golden Hare, if you remember it.

Has anyone seem it? I should imagine Kaz might have done ...

Well as I've been to Cheltenham, shopping, once or twice ( :P ) I know the clock very well - it's a lot of fun, children chase the bubbles and laugh :D

That's fantastic!!! I remember Masquerade so well, I wanted that Golen Hare!
Just looking at Kaz's link, I noticed that further down on YouTube is the Frog Clock in Milton Keynes so I had a look at that and it's another piece by Kit Williams.

Did you also notice The Tailor of Gloucester clock, Jo? That's not there any more, shame as it was quite cute, if not in the same league.... ..

I didn't see that! I used to love that book when I was small.

I've seen it now! What a shame it's gone!

I have a Beswick ornament of the Tailor on his spool of red twine.

Jo the shop and museum, in the actual house, down by the cathedral are lovely :D If you ever fancy jumping on a train to come and see it just give me a shout! :)

It's one of my favourite of her stories too, I bought the full set for B and H when they were little and loved reading them to them :)

I might very well do that Kaz - just chatting to Don about my usual UK summer trip and I've decided to make it a 3 week trip instead of 2. :Hi: :Hi: #

Are the trains from Brum to Gloucester fairly frequent?
