Glad you had a good day Kaz

Tim has a beautiful watch that my cousins husband left to him when he died 5 years ago. It's a Maurice la Croix and we remember Graham buying it and how much he loved. When we brought it home and looked in the box the receipt was in there £2,500 pounds worth of watch

Kaz wrote:Frank, I asked him about your watch, he did know of it! He said there were two versions of it, one quartz and one manual, and they were made in the 80s. He didn't give me a value but said if you wanted to email him, and maybe wanted another he might be able to get you one cheaply as you are my friend. Hope that helps xxxxxxxx

Super to know that you all had a great day.

Kaz, mine was a manual. There was a war coming up and we all did not want to rely on electronic devices.... just in case. I would love another.... but finances!!! It really would be a push, but who knows? You have my addy, pls pass his on and we'll see. Thank you so much. xxxxx

Fantastic, I'm so glad yo had such a fab day - and you had a great time catching up with relatives :D

I'm still wearing a gold watch my exH bought for me the year before we got married (so 1984!) it's a bracelet type and is the only one that fits my wrist perfectly. I hate it when they slip up and down your arm, this one doesnt budge!

I've got a nice Swatch, an all metal one, which John bought me about 10 years ago but I use my Fitbit now, it's one that you wear on your wrist.

I do occasionally fancy getting a new watch but I've found it hard to find one in budget i.e. cheap that doesn't have a load of diamantés on it.

I have a lovely Rotary that Bb gave me for my birthday last year :)
It replaced a 25-yr-old cheapo, which itself replaced a rather nice Seiko that got stolen.

I also still have the Caravelle that was my first proper watch, for my 13th birthday, with original eather strap, and which still fits, in the same hole. I use it whenever my battery runs out until I get it replaced,it keeps perfect time :)
And my gold (plated I think) Rotary which was my 21st birthday present :) I wear that if I'm dressing up although for years wore it daily.

So I've never had many but I do love them.
My dad loved watches and had a nice collection.
